Combat Casualty Blanket, Olive Drab/Bright Silver

I got this emergency blanket to put in my car emergency kit. I wanted a non-obtrusive color and found this product. The reason I docked two stars from it are because it has a strong chemical smell from the green dye and compared to the SOL emergency blanket I pack in my hiking backpack, this is not as durable. This blanket is like your classic mylar blankets where one tear will run through the entire blanket, where as the SOL blanket will stretch then tear, but stop tearing soon after. In addition the SOL blankets do not smell like chemicals even though they are orange on one side. So if you want a less durable mylar blanket that isn't silver or orange, but greenish silver and are willing to air it out for a few days before packing it, then go for it.

The mylar on this blanket is at least double the thickness of the standard cheap mylar blankets so it is more durable but the green side is very reflective (metallic green) so it will not offer any concealment or camouflage advantages.

thought this might have been a little more durable but overall its just an OD survival blanket with an OD exterior.

Honestly I have not had occasion to use this. I hope I never need it. It is well-packaged and appears to be all it claims to be. I appreciate the fact that this blanket has the OD side, just in case you want to be a little less visible. I have one in each of my family'svehicles.

great addition to camping

I chose these on the advice of some military friends. These are very versatile and durable. They are in my big out bag, hopefully, I'll never use them.
