I smiled practically the entire time I read this book
Peggy Ehrhart has created a knitting group that's an excellent mix of ages, sexes, and financial status. Type A Roland has joined the group on the suggestion of his doctor due to his high blood pressure, and I love the way the man follows a pattern when he knits. An elderly member knits for charity and Bettina is Pamela's neighbor who's always ready to do a little snoopi...err... sleuthing. The members of this group are all individuals, and they're all real; Ehrhart doesn't go overboard in making them quaint, quirky, and cute.I also enjoyed Pamela's editing job for the craft magazine, but knitting and editing aren't the best parts of this first-in-a-new-series. The mystery is a good'un, and its resolution blindsided me even though it should not have because the clues were all Just. Right. There. Pamela is honest with herself; she knows that the major reason she's doing her own investigating is that she's nosy, but at least she does her very best to work closely with the police because they are the folks with the training.Good crafts. Good mystery. And the best part of all: good relationships. Murder, She Knit is filled with relationships. There's the growing relationship between Pamela and the little kitten she's named Catrina. There's a strong suggestion of a romantic interest for Pamela, too. But most of all, there are the strong, lasting relationships between all the members of Knit & Nibble. This book is filled with so many good food smells, and knitting, and wonderful fellowship that I found myself smiling through almost the entire book. Bring on the next one-- my needles and black bottom cupcakes are ready and waiting!

Regarding the rescued cat!
Regarding the rescued cat! Toward the end of the book (which I did enjoy as a light read!) Penny says she'll take the cat to the vet to be sure she's healthy. As a cat owner, all my life, let me add: she needs to get her spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and deflea'd.....also though Penny is good about putting out cat food for the stray cat, she never mentions putting out water! Cats do need water, fresh daily!!!Just wanted to add that! Did enjoy the cozy mystery!

Not for knitters only
I loved this first book in a new series. I do knit but I don’t think that’s a prerequisite for enjoying this book. Fun, realistic characters and great descriptions of the old houses included in the story setting. I really didn’t know “ who dun it,” until the very end. I ordered book 2 and look forward to another enjoyable read.

A fun beginning for a series--yarn friends and a cute kitten, just add murder!
This was a very cute start for this series and I find myself definitely wanting to continue it at some point. Like some of the other knit or crochet group mysteries, this book had a group of friends that met once a week for their knitting sessions. I'm hoping in the later books that we get to know a little more about the members, hopefully when it's their turn to host. What set this apart from the other crochet and knitting mysteries was that only the two best friends, Pamela and Bettina were doing the sleuthing.I don't really think there was a way to have guessed the killer, but it was a good twist. There were plenty of red herrings that each got disproved. I really liked the characters of Pamela, her daughter, Penny, bestie Bettina and Bettina's sweet hubby, Wilfred. (Who wouldn't love a husband that likes to cook?) I hope we (and Pamela) get to know the new neighbor Rick a little better. Everyone else saw a love connection for him and Pamela, but Pamela's excuse was that she wasn't ready to date. I guess we'll find out eventually!

Cozy Knitting Murder Mystery
This was a fun read for a debut novel. I wish the main character, Pamela would be a bit more flexible and I'm slightly at a loss figuring out her age group, but, she is a gutsy lady and loves her knitting!Pamela Paterson is a member of the Knit and Nibble group. A social knitting group that enjoys refreshments too. The group meets weekly to socialize. Always looking for new members, Pamela is thrilled when she reunites with a friend who she had lost contact with. Amy is invited to join the group and eagerly accepts. The meeting at Pamela's goes well, however, Amy never shows...until later and under a hedge.Pamela and her best friend, Bettina decide that the police might well do a fine job, but, the police might not ask all the 'right' questions of people. Off the duo go to help the police out. This is the first book in the series and I would like to see where Pamela evolves to so I'll be checking out the next volume certainly.A lovely knitting pattern and cake recipe are included at the ending of the book. Both are bonus for us homemakers.

Best part was the cat!
As a big fan of cozies, knitting and cats, I really expected to like this book more than I did. The premise of the story was good, but about half way through, I realized I was getting bored with the book. Pamela, the main character, came across as dull and uninteresting. She lacked energy, and at times appeared depressed due to the loss of her husband and her daughter leaving the “nest”. Other than solving the mystery, she exhibited no interest in moving on with her life. The character of her best friend, Bettina, gave some life to the story, as did her growing relationship with her cat. I won’t discount this series entirely, as I do see potential, with some energy infused into the main character.

Ok Cozy Mystery
Perhaps the clue to the theme of this cozy mystery series is in the title. There is some knitting in the group, and there are lots of get togethers involving food. The cat really has nothing to do with the mystery, she is just a cute pet. I found this a little slow and stilted.

A wonderful read!
Such an enjoyable book with just enough knitting and cooking (I am a fan of both) blended into the plot and story. You won't be disappointed if you read this book and you will want the entire series ... hopefully with many additions to keep coming! Thank you Peggy Ehrhart for your lovely books.

Great start to an easy to read cozy mystery series...
The first in a new to me series and author of cozy mysteries, this time set around the Knit and Nibble craft group in Aborville USA.Pamela and best friend Bettina seem to get themselves involved in solving murders which happen around them. There's also a little match making too, Pamela having been widowed several years before at a young age, Bettina wants to see her with another beau.Easy to read, with recipes and knitting patterns and tips included, I've enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the rest. I would recommend reading in order as subsequent books refer to previous stories.

Enjoyable
I enjoyed this easy going book. The story is well told if a little far fetched but that is also what made it enjoyable to read. I’m about to start the second book in the series so definitely a good read from me.

Knitting is central to the plot, and this new cozy comes through well
As the first in a new series, this cozy mystery has many strong points. Among them, I would mention especially the writing, which has a nice flow to it, just enough description and variety, and it has a certain sparkle. This feature can be missing from cozies, and it's nice to see it here; the series shows much promise, I think. The 2 main characters--Pamela and her neighbor Bettina--are clever sleuths, and there are many opportunities for knitting and other crafts to be mentioned. The black cat, Catrina, has a growing part in the story, starting off as mostly a wild, outdoor cat who gradually begins to trust Pamela. The resolution wasn't weak at all, but it came from left field, which is a little disconcerting, especially in a first-in-series cozy. However, I will definitely continue with the series and am happy that I gave it a try.
