Sturdy, heavy, well made
Although a little on the expensive side, this is a good quality item that will stand the test of time. Arrived very well packaged. Highly recommended.

Missing parts weren't missing!!!!! Just inaccessible!
Nice piece of furniture - seems sturdy and effective. Very well packaged. Heavy and more than a bit awkward to get up stairs - once unpacked its simply a wooden cube with no grab areas to help lifting. Problem was that we couldn't find the feet / handles - went back through all the packaging etc - no luck. Checked on Amazon re how to get missing parts - instruction is to call the manufacturer on a specified telephone number. Did so and got an answer machine. Left a detailed message requesting replacement parts and providing order number and contact details. A week and a bit later, no spare parts and no contact. Decided to check reviews - and there, a long while ago, was someone with a similar problem who had eventually found that the missing parts were actually taped in the back of the carcase behind the bottom drawer. Checked - and sure enough there they were - invisible unless you are using a flashlight to look. But how to get at them - need to take out the drawer - how???? On the side runners there is a plastic arm which acts as a lock - but even then - need to push the left hand one down and the right hand one up to be able to pull out the drawer and get the taped bags of parts. Now a happy chappy! But it could have been easier if the parts were taped inside a drawer, or if instructions had been easily accessible (they are in the taped bags!!!

After much investigating and reading of product reviews I came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for and with the Office Hippo I was not disappointed. For a start it is NOT self-assembly
I ordered this to replace an old and battered metal cabinet. After much investigating and reading of product reviews I came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for and with the Office Hippo I was not disappointed. For a start it is NOT self-assembly. It arrives complete except for needing to screw on 4 feet (how hard can that be?), and the drawer handles, which requires the use of a crosshead screwdriver. Again, not exactly rocket science. The cabinet itself is solidly constructed and, because of the excellent packaging, unmarked in any way. The drawers slide beautifully and my A4 files hang perfectly. As a matter of interest, the drawer can be configured for the files to hang crosswise, or fore & aft.As a final plus point, the wood finish fits in very well against my wooden Hi-Fi cabinet, making the room look less like a home for surplus office furniture. Highly recommended.

Perfect filing cabinet and looks good too
I had piles and piles of paperwork and eventually caved in and bought this filing cabinet as I like the sturdiness of the office hippo range, and how pleased I was.It arrived fully assembled just needing the handles and bar to be applied (took longer to find our screwdriver than it did to do the task) and there you goThe drawers are lockable and only open one at a time so there is no chance of it tipping over. The drawers take foolscap suspension files if you want them to be filed from front to back of the drawer. To adapt it to take A4 suspension files simply slide the internal bar forwards and place the files the other way around, ie at a 90 degree angle to the front. They hang off a clip at the rear of the drawer froont and the new bar that you just slid into place. And if you are interested in how it looks.... very pretty and not too terribly office-like.

Useful and easy to use
Takes both A4 and fullscap files so frequently used paperwork can be placed in easily accessible left to right A files in the top drawer and long term paperwork can be put front to back in the lower drawer

it will be a poor review, but I will be happy to rerate ...
Dear Sir or Madam,My filing cabinet is defective on two counts. Firstly, the top drawer does not extend fully (i.e. it comes out no more than halfway). Secondly, the bottom-drawer runner on the left-hand-side, which should have been held in place with three screws, was not attached. I found the screws rattling about inside cabinet. I have been unable to attach them myself as the thread into which they should be screwed is damaged. The screws seem to have been forced straight into the chipboard/pulped wood before falling out, perhaps in transit. As a result they cannot be screwed in again as they won't bite into the wood. So, as things stand, the lower drawer is not supported on one side and the cabinet is not fit for purpose. Please arrange to send me a replacement which works as it should.I am about to rate my purchase on Amazon : it will be a poor review, but I will be happy to rerate it if you sort out a replacement within the next few days.Yours faithfully, James Poots
