What a time-saver! Also, I get to sit. That's novel.
As a single professional male who considers ironing both a chore and a time-sink, I’ve been more or less making do with a standard iron since boot camp in the 80s. Lately I have been looking to up my ironing game because I hate ironing, but neither rich nor organized enough to have my dress shirts & slacks outsourced. I considered fancy steam stations, until I realized they took up the end of the ironing board I like using the most. The pointy end of the ironing board has always eluded me, to mom’s continuing dismay, so I use the other end. (Mom conveniently forgets she taught me to iron.) Steam stations also seemed prohibitively expensive, some had longevity / quality control issues recently, and questionable after-sale support. This led me to question my motives, to reassess goals.Oh hey. A big, heavy, simple steam press? This could solve everything.Amazon reviews & YouTube had very little about Reliable’s comparatively expensive option, but I liked Reliable’s reasonable warranty (check that out CAREFULLY for other heavily-hyped, lesser-expensive options), its 1800 watts, their friendly pre-sale support when I called Canada twice to ask questions, and evidence of good post-sale support found on other forums. I liked its 32” length & 11” width, its automatic steam (no pushing buttons, other than to turn on the steam), its enormous and completely-removable distilled water tank, the 5 pre-programmed fabric temps (top 3 are for steam), the room in back to accordion-fold items, how wide the clamshell opens so I could finesse shirts & pants without getting burned, how long this model has been in production (5 years I think), and that steam is Reliable’s primary competence. It’s also well over a hundred bucks more than most other consumer-grade options, but I’ve generally found I get what I pay for.The iron is big, so it takes about 12 minutes to preheat to the “cotton” setting. The iron is powerful, so for me there was zero waiting required for the iron to come back up to temp for the steam to regenerate. Again, I’m a newby, so the time between bursts was spent finessing my items to avoid steaming in wrinkles. And when I did steam in wrinkles, I simply squirted some distilled water on it and steam-pressed them back out.I have read some steam presses “lock” in the down position when pressing. This one does not. Having no experience with that particular option, I found I did not miss it. I simply pull the handle, hover briefly while the steam turns on & off automatically, press firmly for a few seconds, then lift back up. The clamshell is spring-loaded to remain in the open position. It must be open to heat (and cool off), but its twin “child-proof locks” should be engaged for storage. And to keep cats from exploring. The pressing process was quickly intuitive. This morning I was up early and decided to steam-press one shirt for work. Because I hate ironing and had put that chore off. Well that was easy. Let’s press 5 more. 35 minutes later, 6 shirts were nicely pressed and hanging in the closet. Was I perfect? No. Like that one guy on YouTube goes, “if you want perfect, go to a cleaners.” But it was quick, kinda fun, and I got to iron while seated. That was a novelty. And there was plenty of water left in the tank.PS in for a penny, in for a pound. I also bought Reliable’s matching adjustable stand. The steam press affixes securely to its intended stand using its long metal bolt inserted up from the bottom, and while currently I prefer the seated position, as a 6’3” guy its top height is fine should I ever choose to steam-press while standing.

Water container
It is a perfect machine.I love it, the only thing which I see as a direct, is ,After the work you can't store it vertically, even if the water container is empty, remaining water inside , drops from it

Received Used and Failed During Set Up
Rec'd w/ calcium deposits at each steam port, ironing board cover was stained & steam plate was scratched. Thought it might have been tested, so began set up & it started blowing steam produced black marks on the board cover and other set up mtl such as towels. Contacted vendor who diagnosed that the machine water filter is faulty. When starting the return process I learned the machine had to first be inspected before refund can be approved, when the problem was already diagnosed... not a product I recommend, nor source.

This press is worth it!
This press is amazing! I love the quality, the even flow of steam that burst out, and the amount of water it holds between refills. If you have a lot of ironing to do, the last thing you want is to have to keep filling the reservoir for steam. I haven’t had this press for long, and I don’t have another brand to compare it to, but I will say this... I’m a firm believer of “you get what you pay for” logic. With that in mind, I’d rather pay more for a quality item and not risk future problems because something was made cheaply. This press just feels like it was designed to stick around and give that dry cleaner result garment after garment. The only advice I’d give as it relates to this is to save yourself some time and order the stand with it! It’s an extra 119.00 but it’s worth it! If you’re wondering why others who have purchased this aren’t leaving reviews... I’d say because they got what they were expecting and had nothing to complain about. So why me? Because I often look for reviews on things especially when I’m making an investment on a product that seems to have extreme price differences. As it relates to this purchase... I absolutely love it!

Bought 2 in 2020 (Feb and August) When it heated up, it was great.
It definitely ironed great once I figured out that I needed to let the iron completely heat up before using, and I needed to pulse the steam and not hold down the steam button down for more than a few seconds. Bought one in February 2020 and it quit working in August 2020. Liked the results enough to purchase the same brand and model in August 2020 and this new unit quit working in October 2020. Now I am told I have to send them both back for repair and it takes 4 - 6 weeks for them to be repaired. In the meantime, I have to buy a third unit (different brand). Only a fool would buy yet another one!! So very Disappointed!! If you buy this unit and you must have a press...better buy a back up!!

stopped working
When I first got this Press, I was very happy but after 16n months of light usage, the temperature doesn't go higher than 114 degrees anymore and no More steam since it doesn't work at this low temperature. it's an expensive item for 16 months of light use.
