Great Introduction!
Visiting a local family with 6 Jersey cows wanted a quick intro. This book was great! Easy to read and lots of great content. There may be come typos but I didn’t care. Gave the book more personality and made concentrate more. Best wishes to the author & thank you for writing it.Susan Hillyer

Great first look into owning dairy cattle
This book offers a lot of very helpful information that can help in the early decision making of owning a dairy cow. It even has to cheese recipes! For as many questions as this book answered, after reading this book I have many more questions that I hope can be answered through books on specific aspects of owning cattle. Particularly, this book answered some questions here and there about the cost of various things and the solutions to various problems that may arise but not to everything.I'm not sure if the paperback version is different, but in the Kindle version there were a lot of typos and an entirely incomplete sentence near the end. Don't let this stop you though because the book is a very good and affordable first step into the world of owning dairy cows if you are considering it. The information covers a lot and spares no gruesome details of what might be the most challenging parts for some people.

Great Book for New Cattle Farmers!
This is a great beginners' guide to dairy cattle farming. It basically gives an overview of the many varied subjects surrounding dairy farming. First, the author start with the natural foundation- the land on which you will build and run your farm on. This is o=important because you will want t be sure that your land is healthy and rich, You will want to be sure that you will be able to withstand the dry summers and the wet stormy fall and winter. You will want to know the average amount of rainfall, as well as the overall climate year round. Next the author goes into the actual types of farming that you will be doing. This includes whether or not you will want to make cheese or just milk. If you will pasteurize yourself, an if you will choose to sell your products for profit. There is a section describing the many different types of dairy cattle, and a lot of information on how to take care of your cattle. There is even a section describing the cuts of beef, should you want to butcher your own cow. Great Book for New Cattle Farmers!

Informative book
My aunt has a small farm and I bought this book for her. This is a great guide for beginners. This book gives you the information that you need to know in order to raise happy , healthy dairy cattle that can continue to produce milk for a long time before they eventually need to be put down. This book is well written and easy to understand. All information is clear and useful. Author's recommendations and instructions are very detailed and helpful. My aunt liked this book very much. And I recommend this book for those in need of this type of information. It is worth reading.

Full of typos, and rambling illogical paragraphs.
I could over look some of the typos, like the discomfort of “contraptions” leading up to birth, and how much cattle “weight” (there are dozens more examples) if there was information but it feels a lot like cut and paste from some websites- spaced wide in bigger print to make a page from a paragraph. There is nothing to learn in this that can’t be obtained from a few minutes on a couple websites, if you’re looking for quality information or a companion referral, this is not your book.

Not bad but spell check.
Good information for anyone who is not familiar with dairy animal care. However there are many spelling and grammatical errors making ita little difficult to understand what is trying to be articulated.

Wasted my time
This book has many typos. One chapter ended half way through a sentence. I should have read the reviews 🤦♀️. Don't waste your time.

Please proofread before you publish!
The information in this book was very basic at best. It seems to have been written for a very young audience. The entire book was absolutely filled with spelling and other errors. The odd typo is not a huge deal, but there were so many in this book that it became distracting from the actual content. The number of errors shows a complete lack of effort in both proofreading and editing. The writing was just sloppy. I suggest skipping this book and looking elsewhere for information.
