does not fit water bottles unless small
would only fit small disposable bottles, not re-usable water bottles appropriate for trip out. The pockets the bottles sit in are very shallow, so unless half empty likely to fall out -guess that is why there is a strap, but its same height as top of pocket. Rest of product seemed relatively well made/materials ok but due to shortcomings did not use and returned
