Ancol Large "scissor type" nail clippers

Bought these clippers for our chickens, one of which had been broody for several weeks after a hormone implant, leaving her claws to grow. Clippers are the exact same model as on the British Hen Welfare Trust website. The clippers were well made ( stainless steel) and have a guard to prevent cutting too much claw in one go ( tip: use a torch/phone light to see the end of the vein). The clipper removes about 5-6mm at a time ( try clipping a twig or similar to see how much is removed before "operating"!). A good bit of kit, easy to use and delivered on time.

Only managed to clip one nail but that's down to my crazy puppy and not these clippers. Actually one nail is more than I've managed before I bought these. The one nail I clipped was very easy to do and left a very clean cut. The blades are extremely sharp and although I have a small dog (jrt) I would recommend these for all sizes, the hole is large enough for the biggest of claw I'd say. I will persevere in an attempt to cut all his nails now I have a decent pair of scissors.

I've got a big dog with thick nails that are very hard to cut, I thought I'd try these and am so happy I did, They are the best nail clippers I've tried and so sharp my dog doesn't realise I'm cutting them and they don't squash the nail.

Very effective shear action nail clippers - large size suitable for our Pointer dog. Strongly made with comfortable soft grips and a (removable) metal guard plate that stops the nail protruding through too far when you are cutting, so you only nibble off a bit at a time. Smooth action and don't alarm the dog with loud clicking noises. Pleased with these and would recommend

Great clippers, I've had similar in the past and all have been of poor quality build and blade wise and absolutely destroyed my dogs nails by cracking or shattering them.These clippers on the other hand are well made, sturdy, strong and sharp.The make cutting my dogs nails a breeze and for one the dog doesn't mind her nails being cut thanks to these clippers

... best pet nail clippers I have ever purchased.These are so easy to use, very sharp and do not cause any distress to the animal as they cut rather than squash the nail. I have a medium sized dog but have also used them on my cat - so saves having to have two sizes of clippers.Glad I tried them and would definitely recommend them.

Brought for my Bassett hound and they have very thick nails and most clippers crack or split them,but these cut straight through them easy,no spliting
