Good Ratchet
Very good ratchet, a bit coarse and rough when it arrives but its getting better with use. The lock to a socket is excellent and very secure. Feels strong and is comfortable to use all day.

Overall very good quality
I'm impressed so far. The selector is a bit stiff but it needs use and time to soften up. Excellent mechanism, simple design. Inner parts are of the snap on old gen variety. With the money in comparison to the cheaper choices on amazon.

Williams (tools) are owned by Snap On
The reason Williams produce their tools in the USA, being owned by Snap On tools. The repair kits are denoted with Snap On part number, not withstanding, you will need to use this hard every day ( don't abuse tools like this and they will last 35 years +) I know this personally as I have the SOT version used everyday, my previous dealer was moving on and I have never made a warranty claim so I asked if he could change the innards (35 years on and still working perfectly he agreed and swapped all the gear mech, pawl and even a new direction thumb changer :-). (you DO pay a handsome premium BUT pay once and that's that, buy from B&Q (Home Depot) and I can promise you will be buying ratchets in this case, until retirement. Williams and it's parent company make them to last. The only time you will need to buy another is if you leave it in an engine bay or (any mechanic will back me up- strip, clean and lubricate the mechanism !!! It's nice to see Williams and Blue Point (also owned by SOT), making an appearance on Amazon and away from the man in a van franchise model.
