I originally bought these padded cycle shorts for use on an exercise bike after suffering some “discomfort” from the allegedly padded bicycle seat!I have found the level of comfort provided by these shorts to be excellent for many “miles” on the exercise bike. No rubbing/chafing and the padding relieves pressure where you need it to.The shorts have a fairly stretchy outer fabric which reaches down to the knee and a slightly tighter lining which provides comfort without restriction of movement.Having determined that I wouldn’t look too idiotic wearing these in public, I’ve also used them when riding my mountain bike. Again, very comfortable. These shorts are also cooling in hot weather and warming in the colder months, have decent padding and are made from quality fabrics.There are pockets with zips which are very handy for keeping small items in and the drawstring ensures a decent comfortable fit.And all of this is machine washable which is good news after those muddy bike rides.A very good product for my purpose working well whether I’m on the exercise bike or a real one and coming in at a pretty good price for the quality and style.

Used on 4 rides so far & all good. Comfortable, good fit & easy to wipe clean. Appears to be durable & good value but only time will tell.

These are comfortable to wear and are very practical with pockets, waterproof and good padding. The padded liner is sown into the shorts, so it can't be removed. I ordered a larger size than normal because several reviews suggested that. The outside fits well, but the liner seems bigger than it needs to be. However, this doesn't cause any problems.

My husband loves these. He looked much smarter on a recent trip than the other older men in too tight lycra. Very useful zip pockets.

I highly recommend these shorts—the padding is excellent makes cycling much more comfortable. I am using them for longer (10-15 mile) exercise rides as well as to go shopping.For you information (none of these points affected my review):1) My waist is 32in/82 cm and I ordered a large. These run a bit big and I probably could have ordered a medium, but the large ones are fine.2) The padding, unlike standard cycling shorts, is non-absorbant—you will want to wear something underneath the shorts. For this reason these shorts might not be appropriate for high energy 50-mile road treks, for which regular tight cycling shorts would be better, but they are great for shorter rides and shopping trips.3) The legs are quite long and almost to my knees (and I have longish legs). The tight inner lining insulates well and they are great for cooler weather.Each leg has a regular pocket and a zippered pocket. Both pockets are on the small side: keys and a small wallet zipper in with no problem, but your phone won't fit. Your phone also won't fit into the shallow regular pocket.4) I have had these for only a week so cannot comment on durability.5) Updating two years later: the drawstring has just failed. My best estimate is that I wore these for at least 500 rides (15 mins-60 mins). Very little wear other than the failed drawstring. Waterproofing fades after many washes. I am now ordering another pair while I figure out if I can replace the drawstring...

Good product

I ordered the XL size, which should have fitted me with room to spare... but they were uncomfortably tightAt the same time my son received the same shorts in M ... should have been a good fit according to the waist size table. But far too small.These shorts might be good... they seem fair quality. But they are too small to be road tested.

After years of cycling and buying high end products with the allure of comfort and never quite reaching its status - these shorts have liberated my rides from expensive bib shorts into comfortable and utility based cycling shorts that don’t hinder me when it’s time for a comfort break either. Plenty pockets for spare cash, cards, mobile phone and house key without affecting comfort and the chamois pad is the best and I mean the best I’ve had, I went for a tour of Holland recently and only wished I had a few other pair of these shorts with me instead of changing into different brands and bibs over the five day trip. I ended up washing them by hand for the last leg knowing I’d be much more comfortable on the six hour ride back to the ferry. Absolutely brilliant and would love to get more and know what else is in the range
