Clear results
Having pet fish I've used these types of strips before and they are often difficult to read. You can spend minutes looking at the colours trying to match them to the colour key. I found these a bit easier to read than others I've used in the past. There isn't really much to them and the most important feature of these is the readabilty of the results. So from that perspective these get high marks. They come in a container with a screw top (I prefer a flip top cover) but that is a very minor gripe when it comes to being able to cleary read the results.

Definitely not all that reliable
Dip the strip into your pond or tank and wait a few minutes for results which a chart can be located on the side of the tub.The colours on the strip will then change, to reflect the Carbonate, pH, Hardness, Free Chlorine, Nitrate and Nitrite in your water. The first issue I had was, in the first test it showed some levels being much lower than ideal, which was a bit odd as my old tests have never shown my pond ever being low. However, when I did the test again a minute or so later, everything was fine.I tried the test 3 times which all 3 showed a slightly different result which is slightly expected but never on a scale this notiable unfortunately.I'd stick to your main brands or just not this unfortunately.

easy to use
Easy to use and give quick, accurate readings for all the essentials. With 100 strips in the pack, they last a while. They’ve helped me keep the water quality just right for my fish. Overall, these strips are a handy and reliable tool for maintaining a healthy aquarium.

Easy to Use but Varying Accuracy
I have three fish tanks - 2 coldwater and one very large tropical tank set-up.These strips are very simple to use - dip in the tank for a couple of seconds then wait for a reading. With these, I found the results from 30 seconds to a minute differ greatly, so I'm not sure how accurate they are. I've used other test strips that change and then remain almost exactly the same as the initial reading until dried out. Results vary on where the water sample is taken from - most dip into the tank and test water from the top (often affected by the flow of the filter) but if you collect a sample from closer to the gravel, you get a different reading sometimes.I tested all three of my tanks for a few days in a row - interestingly the water in one of my coldwater setups and the tropical tank showed as being exactly the same, with some daily changes to the PH. My larger coldwater tank showed changing results each time.I unfortunately recently bought a new fish for my smaller cold tank - within 10 days nearly all my fish in that tank died. When the first fish (new addition) died, I did a test with this strip and it showed my nitrates and nitrites were really bad. I did an emergency water change (about 95% as it was showing my water to be incredibly dangerous), dipped afterwards and my levels were showing spiked levels but not dangerous. I dipped daily, water was showing as safe but all but one of my 8 yearold goldfish died.I won't know for sure if the test strips caused me to do an unnecessary water change or if the new fish I bought had disease, but I'd be cautious about the accuracy of using just these for water quality.

Thy do work well.
As most fish keepers will know the quality of a fish is due to the quality of the water.Something you cannot tell with just looking (unless its very bad water) .Nitrates , oxygen , chlorine , nitrogen all can kill fish in the wrong quantities to get a perfect level aways follow instruction from the seller. To help these are a must for good healthy fish, simply add a little of the tanks water to a glass dip and look against the chart, DO NOT dip the strips direct into the fish tank chemicals on the strip will effect the fish.Throw the rest of the test water away never put back in the tank.Along the side of the chart you will find what is needed to help balance the water, or thumbs up you have good water, 100 strips for under £10 a good investment as fish are not cheap.

Reasonably accurate for me
I tested on freshwater (not marine). In my images, my existing kits are the square vial and the white tub, and these strips are in the green tub. I compared to the current test kits I use, and the pH test with existing kits returned 7 and 7.5, and with these strips returned around 7 so that seems fairly accurate. The nitrite returned 0 and 0. The nitrate returned 0-5 and 10, so a difference here. Hardness didn’t state which one, and the scale is different so can’t compare this.Overall, they are easy to use, there are loads in the tub and not too expensive. I wouldn’t like to give them 100% trust if testing marine water though. Of course my existing test kits could be out, but they are a decent brand and one would hope they are accurate. I guess if you just need a quick test to make sure things are not alarmingly out then these will do the job.

Accurate results
Use these for aquarium to test quality of water and got accurate readings. The quality of the strips is good and instructions clear to follow. They perform as expected and good amount of strips included for the cost. The box is small and easy to store.
