Noise Cancelling Headphones for Hearing Protection (S, M, L, XL)

I adopted a large pittie last year from our local shelter. She had been picked up as a stray, so of course the details of her past are unknown. But through some of her behaviors, I believe she's previously been abused.She's turned out to be the absolute best dog, out of many, that I've had. She is truly full of love and sweetness. But, there's still a bit of fear.She tolerates most noises well, trucks and motorcycles going by don't phase her. But if any neighbor starts mowing, she runs to her safe space. At one time, she suffered a mouth injury. From the looks of it, I can't help but think maybe she tangled with a lawn mower at some point. So, lawn mowers, fireworks, and storms all send her into a state of fear. I've tried everything, as has my vet, to help with her fear. Nothing has worked, so I ordered these.First, they are sized on the small side - I recommend sizing up. These are very snug on my baby and I wish I had ordered a larger size.I had no issues, except the snugness, while putting these on her. Thank goodness she trusts me and knows there's no way in heck that I would ever hurt her.She didn't seem to mind wearing them for a little bit. But we've had no chance to see if they help her yet. I'm in a rural neighborhood and in summer, someone is always mowing. So, I figure this evening or tomorrow, we'll get to test them out for real. I hope and pray they buff out enough noise to alleviate her fears. I hate seeing her afraid for any reason!I think these are made with high quality materials. They're designed very well to accommodate a dog's head. They feel like they're incredibly soft for the dog.So far, except for the small sizing, I'm satisfied with this product and think it will be helpful. I recommend, but be sure to size up!

As it turns out, our fireworks-sensitive dog had a chance to test these the very first day we received them. They come with a guide to desensitize your pup and instructions on how to approach, adjust, etc. We barely needed them. Our dog allowed us to put them right over his head and adjust them. Then he walked around with them on his head for a while. So I think they can safely be rated highly for comfort. The fit was great. I can't really speak to how much the noise was reduced, but he did seem to like them, which isn't always the case for noise reducing stuff with this dog, so my guess is that they did indeed reduce the noise from the fireworks outside, or muffled them enough that he felt better.They seem to be of high quality and are soft inside and out. We had no concerns about putting these over our dog's head and as I said, he seemed unconcerned with their presence, which isn't always the case for him.

Went by the measurements and got the small for my dog. While they were able to put on my dog, they were so tight that she had a hard time swallowing. Wish I could exchange for a medium. They look and feel to be well made and look like they would stay on longer than the head strap design.

I got these to help my dog with anxiety associated with loud noises. Amazingly to me as soon as I put these on my dog she seemed comfortable with them. She is a 75 lb Golden retriever and the large just fits her head. It’s hard to show in the pics but the ear area has a nice padded piece. This slides on the dog’s head and then has a drawstring at the top and bottom to secure it. I did have to work a little to get my dog’s ears positioned in a way that looked comfortable. The material is very smooth and didn’t catch my dog’s hair. Hard to tell how much noise this blocks but my dog did seem quite calm with it on.

I was so excited to see these! My dog Hates loud noises, fireworks, thunder and even appears anxious when a storm is brewing. If I notice him becoming anxious I can check the weather and sure enough a storm is on the horizon! I measured my dog and when I got them he allowed me to put them on. I didn’t tighten anything down but just being able to apply them gives me hope that when the next storm or fireworks holiday arrives we’ll have this in his arsenal against a total meltdown! I’m extremely glad I saw these!

I like these ear muffs much better than those for dogs that are designed similarly to ear protection for humans.Initial fit was snug and there are tightening options front and back to help prevent your dog from pawing it off. My small standard poodle was able to eventually paw it off without the tighteners applied.I will need to gradually teach my dog to tolerate this equipment. One way I do that is to take my dog to a place they really enjoy so they forgot they are wearing things like this or booties. Plus reward, reward, reward to make a positive association with the equipment.I recommend these highly with the caveat that people can train dogs who do not tolerate the equipment well to eventually tolerate wearing them.

These look and feel like very well made doggy ear muffs. My bulldog has massive anxiety around basically all noises from loud to soft so I was hoping that these would help with some of those triggers. I measured him 3 times to ensure a proper fit and all 3 times it came back at just under 18.25" so I went with the size large thinking he'd have at least a quarter-inch of wiggle room but they're so tight I can't really get it over his head. It's possible I got one that was abnormally small for its stated size but I'd definitely suggest sizing up if you're near the top of a size range just in case. There are drawstrings on them to tighten them up for a more customized fit so I'd be more concerned about too tight than too loose. As is, my dog can't properly try this on so I don't know how well they work but they do seem well made and feel quite durable.

We tried these on our older scaredycat dog who has a huge problem with gunshots, fireworks, and thunder.She didnt seem too upset by the muffs and she didnt respond to our claps unless she turned around and saw me, so they block out a good bit of sound.She was between the 2 sizes and we got the smaller one and it fit perfectly out of the box.I do wish the ad didn't say "noise cancelling headphones". That phrase should only be used for electronic noise cancellers; these are just regular muffs.

Safe Dogs Ears Hunde-Ohrschützer habe ich für meinen Assistenzhund, Langhaarcollie, bestellt, damit er sich bei Gewitter, Silvester aber auch bei Kinobesuch wohlfühlt und nicht fürchtet.(Nachtrag nach ausgiebigem Training, siehe unten!)Ohrschützer werden ohne chemische Gerüche und mit einem kleinen Handbuch geliefert - darin finden sich auch Tipps zur Gewöhnung an die Ohrschützer.Ich habe seine Maße abgenommen und entsprechend L bestellt. Wenn ich die herausnehmbaren Ohrschützer entferne, also nur den Schal anziehe fühlt sich mein Hund wohl. Natürlich helfen sie dann nicht wie sie sollen, weil ja der Lärmschutz überwiegend in den Ohrmuscheln liegt. Wenn ich das im Ganzen dem Hund überziehe, dann erstarrt er sofort, kann keine Leckerlie annehmen und hat wohl Druck auf der Kehle/Hals, sodass er den Kopf hoch hält um zu entlasten und für nichts außer "Ausziehen" ansprechbar ist. Wenn ich es ihm weiter vorne auf dem Kopf aufsetze, sodass zwar die Ohrmuscheln richtig sitzen, aber der Rest nicht am Hals sitzt und so nicht drücken kann, dann rutscht das Ganze nach vorne und mein Collie bekommt ein ganz verschrumpeltes Gesicht, wie ein Mops. Das ist natürlich auch unbequem.Ich weiß nicht, ob er doch eine größere Größe gebraucht hätte (obwohl L gut passt, und die Ohrmuscheln sollen ja auch nicht lose drauf sitzen) oder ob er als Langhaar Collie für diese Ohrschützer ungeeignet ist (weil die dicke Mähne zusätzlich Volumen um den Hals macht und der Hersteller eher an kurzhaarige Hunde dachte beim Design?) oder ob das gesamte Konzept unausgereift ist.Für uns ist es so leider unbrauchbar, aber da ich nicht sicher bin woran es liegt vergebe ich dennoch drei Sterne, da das Produkt gut verarbeitet ist, die Ohrmuscheln herausnehmbar sind, das Teil waschbar ist und vor allem, da es bei einer anderen Rasse durchaus brauchbar sein kann. Ich trainiere weiterhin täglich mit meinem Hund, vielleicht lässt ihn bloß das Unbekannte erstarren. Ich halte euch auf dem Laufenden.NACHTRAG:Wir haben jetzt täglich trainiert. Hund nimmt erstmal Leckerlie aus meiner Hand (um die Hand hängen die Ohrschützer), also muss er erst seinen Kopf freiwillig durchstecken um ans Leckerlie zu kommen. Dann ziehe ich ihm die Ohrschützer an und gebe weitere Leckerlie und Streicheleinheiten.Und heute war es soweit, ein Gewitter mit Blitz, Donner und Starkregen. Der Stress ging los: Stresshecheln, Zittern, Zähneklappern. Ich habe wie bisher versucht ihm Sicherheit zu bieten. Dann fielen mir die Ohrschützer ein und ich habe sie ihm übergezogen. Das Zittern und Zähneklappern hat sofort aufgehört. Beim Donner kam vom Hund keine Reaktion mehr. Das Stresshecheln ist zwar geblieben aber er hat ja den Gewitteranfang bereits erlebt. Insgesamt war es deutlich besser, als ohne diese Ohrschützer. Da er beim Gewitter/Silvester nicht wild rumläuft sondern liegt oder steht verrutschen die Ohrschützer auch nicht. Da es mit Training doch hilft, gebe ich einen Stern mehr.

Unser Monty hat Sylvester im ziemlich mit der Knallerei zu kämpfen.Darum haben wir die Vine (kostenlos) Gelegenheit genutzt und uns den Safe Dogs Ears Hunde-Ohrenschützer bestellt.+ Zu dem Produkt gibt es eine deutsche Anleitung+ Die Verarbeitung ist gut+ Entsprechend der zwei gemessenen Werte haben wir die Größe L (Pyrenäenschäferhund Schulterhöhe 48,5 cm) bestellt und die passt auch.+ Monty lässt sich den Ohrschützer aufsetzen und behält in auf. Gefallen tut ihm das aber nicht, was aber zu Anfang in jedem Fall normal ist.Den wichtigsten Punkt der Geräuschreduzierung und deren Nutzen kann ich aber noch nicht bewerten.Da die Gehörgänge durch die Ohrmuscheln, nicht wirklich in der Mitte abgedeckt werden und auch nicht Punktgenau angepresst werden, sind wir skeptisch das es gut funktionieren wird.Wir haben die Ohrmuscheln aus dem Stoffüberzug entnommen und uns zu Testzwecken selbst auf die Ohren gedrückt. Der Selbstversuch hat gezeigt das Geräusche reduziert werden, Sprache schwerer zu verstehen ist. Ob das ausreicht das Monty besser mit der Knallerei zu Sylvester klar kommt?Wir haben jetzt erstmal 4 Sterne vergeben und werden nach Sylvester die Bewertung Updaten.Sollte es Monty helfen gibt es eine Aufwertung auf 5 Sterne, wenn es nicht hilft oder sogar noch Zusatzstress bedeutet gibt es eine Abwertung auf 3 Sterne.Damit Monty das tragen zu Sylvester nicht zusätzlich stresst, werden wir ihn bis dahin an den Ohrenschützer gewöhnen.
