Fly be gone!
Great little portable unit, purple/uv attracts the flies (Mosquito's not so much) and they get electrocuted on the metal.Simple enough to use, but it does seem that some flies are just not as stupid as others and will avoid it,however its small enough to keep in the kitchen for a bit of fly defence when needed.

Does not work on mosquitos.
Its the wrong colour light for this to work on mosquitos. This will only attract flies, which is ok if you want to kill flies, but it does not attract mosquitos. This is very small any way, Ive had it on a few nights and its attracted and killed nothing. A total waste of time.

Worked Great on Holiday in Greece
Took this to Kefalonia last week where we were meticulous about closing our doors in the evening. I read the comments about light colour but the instructions to make it clear that this should be switched on for a couple of hours when nobody is in the room and that time is when it is most effective - not when humans are near. As you can see it did eliminate 2 bugs so we clearly hadn't kept our doors closed enough. Can't tell if they were mozzies but it seemed a nice quality item, the kids also enjoyed it being a night light when we left it on for the rest of the night too. Will take on future holidays - we had no bites. Perhaps luck, perhaps this device. Either way I have no reason to fault it.

electrified rails were bent to the point they were already touching
Some of the electrified rails were bent to the point they were already touching so it started zapping as soon as I switched it on. I managed to unbend them with a wooden fork but it wasn't a reassuring start. I left it on overnight and there were a few zapped flies but still plenty flying about in the room I left it in.

Great
The mosquito zapper is light and easily portable. It is small in size and has a loop handle on top to hang it or make it easier to move. The zapper has a long battery life and has a good appearance. The downside is the zapper is small in size so depending on area you want to cover you may need more than one. One thing I like about it is there is no noise when switched on meaning you can carry on your day without any annoying sounds from the zapper. I'm really happy with this zapper and think it is a good value for money.

Bug killer, not for mosquitos.
The media could not be loaded. This little unit has the basic functionality - as a bug zapper, its not going to work with mosquitos as plenty of research indicates they are not interested in Blue or ultra violet wavelengths.I realised this before ordering so I am reviewing it in the context of a bug zapper which I wanted, mosquitos are not really an issue in the UK.The Blue/Purple LED light isn't very bright, which isn't necessarily a bad sign as the UV output that you can't see but bugs can is what matters, if you view it through a phone camera it shows the UV and you can see its actually quite bright. The high voltage seems to work OK and produces a decent zap.The unit is turned on simply by twisting.Claims to have a 1200mAh battery and seems to run a fair while, it can be plugged in any USB supply and run continually,There is a ludicrously short USB cable supplied that is pretty useless, the connection is 'old' style' micro USB not C-type.The unit doesn't contain the usual bug catcher tray for the debris, there is a small brush to clean it up.In theory it should zap bugs, not caught much yet though.Do I think its worth 13 quid? not if you think your getting a mosquito zapper, as a little bug zapper, maybe, I have seen similar cheaper though.

Mosquitos are not attracted by purple light
Mosquitos are not attracted to purple light. They are attracted to red light at the opposite end of the spectrum. Our red body heat attracts them.Flys on the other hand are attracted to purple light and uv light.

Rechargeable, quick and easy to use.
I like the compact size of this mosquito zapper. It’s very easy to use, just turn it in via the base. The light comes in and it’s very bright.Just follow the instructions. The model looks very nice and isn’t an eyesore. There is a range of colours available however only pink was on offer as a review model. The pink is very nice however. The unit is rechargeable making it ideal as no need to stock up on batteries. It’s quite a nice quality product and performed quite quietly.A couple mosquitoes and a moth were drawn to it and the zapper worked very quickly.I’d say this was value for money if you needed something to help keep away the pesky bugs during the summer months.I most like that it is rechargeable.
