NOT a hair dryer!
I originally got this brush because I thought it was a drying brush (whoops!) and when I received it I realized it's for use on already dry hair, like a curling iron. Although I was a little disappointed, I still wanted to give it a try. It's nice and lightweight and heats up quickly - I used it on my air-dried bob length hair to smooth it out and slightly flip it out at the ends. It worked similar to my hair straightener and it doesn't feel like I'm causing as much heat damage. I can't speak to how well it works for curling longer hair, but I would imagine it gives hair a nice blow-out look and would probably work really nicely with curlier hair. I'll continue using this in place of my straightener for awhile just to change things up.

Thumbs up on the Alko Pro
My wife loves her Alko Pro heated round thermal brush. It eliminates having to style her hair with a blow dryer and round brush at the same time. Although this heated brush does not blow hot air, it reduces using two tools down to one. She can wake up with bedhead, plug this heated brush in, set the temperature where she wants it, and within a few minutes she has her styled, and off she goes! She likes the simplicity of using this brush. The 360-degree swivel and tangle-free cord is long and doesn't get in her way like some cords do. With the swivel mechanism, the brush glides easily without the cord becoming tangled. The attached velcro strap is nice too, allowing you to neatly wrap and store your cord. She especially likes that her hair doesn't get frizzy like it tends to do when using her blow dryer. This is probably due to the ceramic tourmaline barrel, which emits direct negative ions, locking in moisture. This brush is simple to use. Holding down the center button on the wand for a couple of seconds turns the heated brush on. The arrows above and below the power-on switch adjust the heat. Push the up arrow to increase the amount of heat and the down arrow to reduce the temperature. The bristles on the brush itself are soft and don't pull or get tangled in her hair. She loves the soft and shiny results after using this brush. Now that I have shared what she loves about this brush, let me share with you what she doesn't like about it... Sometimes her finger slips and hits the temperature arrows, causing her to lower or increase the heat setting when she doesn't mean to. The second thing you should know is that it isn't difficult to burn your fingers by holding or maneuvering the top of the brush, or if your fingers slip into the bristles of the brush. Yes, it's the same risks with using a blow dryer or curling iron; you just need to be mindful when using this hair tool.Bottom line? This thermal brush is probably her favorite hairstyling tool, and she's already packed it for an upcoming trip!

Nothing spectacular
This is okay, it does what it says it will I suppose. I was hopeful this would do what blow drying with a round brush the same size would do, or at least it could refresh my second or third day hair in the same sense. However, all it really does is smooth my hair and then put a little curl at the end. It is useless for curling. I wasn't wanting ringlet curls but I was wanting some body with a little more curl in the end and this doesn't do that. It's more of a smoothing straightening brush. It works really well to straighten and smooth hair. If you're looking for something to straighten your hair and give a little bit of body instead of just a stick straight style, this will work great for that. I have thick fine hair, which means I have lots and lots of fine hair, and this worked great on my hair to straighten it.

I really like this!
I received this heated brush today, so I instantly showered and dried my hair.My hair texture is fine and fuzzy/wavy.Although it's fine, I have plenty of it.So, in the before picture you can see the frizz.I found this item to be very reminiscent of the old "curling brushes" every mom had back in the mid to late 80s, with the short, stiff plastic "bristles" that got hopelessly tangled in my hair! This is a similar, but much better concept. The brush does not blow air. It is not a drying/styling tool. It is just a heated brush. It does get pretty hot, and quickly. The bristles are soft, like an actual brush. Not hard or plastic, and I never once felt I was in danger of it getting stuck in my hair!It isn't heavy. Easy to use.My only issue is the button placement for on/off and temp control. I hit them repeatedly while styling my hair, no matter how careful I tried to be.I never shut it off, but I accidentally changed the temperature over and over. But, I plan to use this a lot! It really smoothed my fuzz, and was quick and easy!

Not a dryer
With so many dryer brushes around, you might think this brush is one too. However, it does not include a drying component. It is a heated round brush. It’s kind of like a curling iron or a straightener but in a brush form.. I like that the barrel is 1.5” so it’s easier for ppl with short hair to use. The swivel cord is a plus as well as the digital temperature display and that it is dual voltage. The only negative thing that I found was the placement of the buttons … they are located exactly where my thumb wants to sit so it’s easy to accidentally change the temperature.

heats up really fast, excellent quality bristles and comfortable to hold!
This is my wife's favorite hair accessory recently. I have used it a few times but she's the one who is primarily using it now. It looks great, comes with 2 high quality clips, heats up really fast, has a nice display that shows current temperature, and the temperature can be set from 140F to 430F. The bristles are soft and very gentle on hair. The handle is nice and comfortable to hold. The buttons are indented and you don't accidentally press them. The cable rotates freely and its quite long around 8 to 10 ft. The release is perfectly smooth and it doesn't pull hair. And finally, it curls the hair really well and I can see it being used to straighten hair as well. Overall, excellent design and I highly recommend this one!

Good for a bumping the ends
Easy to use on short hair, if you use bigger pieces the hair gets tangled a bit. Smaller pieces works best for blowout look and this curler is great for adding volume to thinner finer hair
