Improved Design on Previous Schaller Strap Locks.
I've been using Schaller Strap Locks for 30+ years and my only bugbear was that they rattle when sitting with the strap attached and the nut nd washer works loose and required regular tightening with soft strap end.Bugbear no more, the locks fit the endpins perfectly, no play or rattle. The newer nut with the hex pin is ultra-secure and after 3 months of regular use on 2 expnsive guitars they haven't budged one iota.Bear in mind that these are fixed to the guitar with a fatter than standard screw so removing them will leave a larger hole. However, once they're on, there on and ain't going nowhere.Advice to non luthiers/guitar techs fitting DIY, have a look at the numerous YT videos for hints and tips prior to installing on your precious instrument.Well done Schaller for making improvements on an already great piece of guitar hardware.

Superb. Every guitar should have them - mine all do! Now updated to work with Gibsons.
Every guitar in my collection is fitted with Schaller straplocks, and every guitar I build is supplied with them. That's how much I rate these. I have NEVER had a guitar fall off a strap with Schaller locks.Yes, you need to put the locks on the strap too, so each guitar has its own strap. Big deal. Each guitar hangs differently, so mine all have their own strap anyway. This S-Lock version of the Straplock button eliminates the separate screw and has a larger diameter thread than the old version. This makes it a direct replacement for the stock button on recent Gibsons, which uses a fatter screw than most. It is screwed in with the supplied Allen key so chewing up the screw head, or slipping and scratching the finish is a thing of the past. The strap part is also improved, with a neater nut and integral washer which is less prone to undoing itself - not that any of mine ever did.I'm reviewing the chrome version here, which was a perfect match for the hardware on my 2013 SG Tribute. Gold and nickel finishes are also available.Considering how much a headstock repair costs (and I know EXACTLY how much it costs because I'm a guitar repairer), these straplocks are great value.Buy them, fit them, forget there was ever another way of attaching the strap. This is the ONLY way of securing a strap.

Protect Your Investment
If you’ve invested hundreds or even thousands of pounds in your instrument, then these really are a must buy. When I bought my first decent telecaster many years ago, the strap slipped off the front strap nut and the guitar hit a stone floor with the headstock!Luckily, a local luthier made good the damage - which was on that occasion minimal, but it taught me a lesson! I now fit these to all my guitars and my bass! They are easy to fit and the locking device makes it impossible to remove unless removal is your intention.

Much improved design over the previous!
There isn't a whole lot to say about this product. What is its value? It's value is the same as your guitar with the old style strap buttons.£200?£1000?£25,000? (Yes, it can be that high)The value of this product is intrinsically linked to your guitar, it'll stop the strap wearing out and slipping off the strap buttons, saving on repair bills and dings/dents/chips.Ease of use?Anyone with a screw driver can fit these, replace the old strap button fitments with the ones included, and put the strap locks on the strap.Improvements over the old design? So, these are held in with nuts that are thumb screwed in rather than the old spanner compatible nut making fitment much easier. Additionally, they don't have the old ball on the end connected to a bolt (You used to lift the ball and it'd unlock the strap from the guitar).I've lost plenty of these little balls, never again! It's a great product and a must for live artists or folks that just want to protect their guitar from accidental strap slippage.I have these on all of my guitars, literally.

Shaker strap locks.
Had to make the holes in the strap larger for them to fit. They were too long and the guitar wouldn’t fit in its case. Removed them and fitted much shorter ones so the guitar could fit in its. A Slash Les Paul.

Improved, easier to fit strap locks.
I own Schaller strap locks for two of my guitar and bass, however these appear to be an updated version (I didn't realise before ordering). The principle is the same of course, yet with these you can pretty much fit the locks by hand now as they removed the washer and nut that features on my old set that required a spanner. You may need a tiny screwdriver and allen key, but let's be honest you probably have those to hand to make minor adjustments to your guitars anyway. It's just a little improvement that makes a lot of difference. Although I do recall the old sets used to provide two different length screws, whereas this set on the one, but this wasn't an issue in my case. They feel a bit more sturdy than the old set. I'd end up rechecking my old set from time to time as the nut would come loose. These have a bit more thread so feel like they aren't moving. I'm not able to confirm or deny yet, but it looks like the new and old versions should still be interchangeable with either strap button, unless there is a minor size difference I'm not aware of.Locks arrived two days earlier than anticipated in a padded envelope, great seller.
