not bad, not overly comfortable
I really like the idea of underwear that replaces sanitary products, and these are the first that I've tried. Good news: while a little stiff, they aren't as bulky as I thought they might be. I'm not sure what the experience would be for someone who's dealing with heavier flow than I am, but I haven't had any reason for concerns about absorbency. However, I can't give them more than 4 stars for comfort. As a personal preference, I don't like the feel of thin waistbands, and while I think the sizing was right overall, the high elastic waist was uncomfortable to me if I had any amount of bloating (which is more likely on the days when I'd chose period underwear.) I also had some issue with the boxer legs rolling up or bunching - not terrible, but some.I'll use these in some situations, under some clothes and not others. The concept is great, and these aren't bad, but I think I'd try out other varieties rather than stocking up on more of these boxers.

Good coverage
We got these for our twelve year old daughter and she loves them. They provide good coverage and prevent leaks on her clothes. She is 5’2, 145 lbs and the mediums fit her perfectly. She said these are very comfortable and perfect for sleeping on heavy flow days. They are WAY better than having to wear a pad and it’s nice to know we are generating less waste by using these. Would buy again.

Fit is all wrong
Honestly... I don't like them. I feel like the online photos is a little misleading on fit. If you have even the slightest bit of meat on your behind, they won't fit right. I don't have a very large butt, but it's not exactly small either. In the back, these underwear sit right below my cheeks. And in the front, I have about an inch and a half of length. Not only does fit feel weird, but it looks weird too! It makes them look like they were made wrong. You can easily see them under clothing and almost all fabrics cling to them. I wore a pair of soft lounge shorts with a 4 inch inseam over these, and when whenever I'd start to walk, my shorts would ride up to the point where the front of the underwear would be sticking out and the back side would ALL THE WAY up with no inseam left. That never happens with my regular or other period undies. Also the built-in pad thing feels weird. It's like there's a giant piece of rubber sewn into your underwear! I would never leave the house wearing these. They're just so visible under clothing! Protection wise: They do well. I haven't leaked when wearing them. I typically wear them with a tampon or cup because I'm a heavy bleeder and always leaks no matter what size tampon I use or how often I change it. On my non-heavy nights, I wear them without any other protection and they do good. Coverage doesn't go all the way up the back, but it's pretty darn close. I ordered the size (9) 2Xl and I feel the they are about right. I'm a size 16 (sometimes an 18) in ladies jeans (not the plus size womens) and an XL in leggings and lounge wear. Now even though the sizing is right...like I said, the fit is all wrong! I honestly would not recommend them.

fit is large and loose
First off, the concept is great. I've been switching to period underwear over the last year or two and I just really like the product overall. This particular pair has some definite pros and some cons In the pros, if you like the boy short style this definitely fits that type of underwear. In addition, the interior lining somehow manages to not feel wet and cold if you have to go to the bathroom during the day. I have discovered with a number of my other pairs I get a kind of cold clammy feeling when I pull them back up and this underwear from Hanes mitigates that somehow which is amazing. On the cons side, they are bigger than I expected. They fit loosely and sometimes shift at night. I've been batting about 50% on wearing them at night at the beginning of a period on leakage issues. I think they are, for me, going to be a go-to pair for medium to low flow days. For contacts, all of my other period Underwear are also size large and none of them are loose. I would definitely consider ordering another set of these but I would go with the size medium in the future. For reference, I'm about 5 ft 10 in and currently in the neighborhood of 145 lb.
