This is a simple and very basic mic, the plastic barrel feels quite fragile and cheap. One of the first things to point out is that it is a very quiet microphone, you'll need to have it very close to your mouth if you want to get any decent sound from it. I tried with three different audio recording software packages and on all three I had to have the mic input volume turned to the max to get a fairly decent sound from it. If you use as a desk mic, you'll need to bend down to be close to the mic head as the stand isn't very tall - however it is sturdy and rather stronger than the mic itself.This is a very basic mic, the sound quality isn't the best, it could work for most basic recordings, such as dictations but if you're wanting to use it for more professional recordings like podcasts and audio/visual presentations, you'll also need audio processing software so you can use audio boost/compression to get the most out of this mic.
