Khomeini: Life of the Ayatollah

I never came across a biography on ayatollah Khomeini before in my local bookstore. I wanted to find a book that covers his life, and amazon provided an answer. As for the book itself, I would read carefully on it, as it has alot of words that the average reader would not understand, but apart from the wording...it is a great book to purchase with anyone interested in historical figures.

Intelligently written book for those interested in politics. The book is as much about the history of the Iranian political system as it is about the Ayatollah himself. It's written in a very emotionless way which might make it heavy going to most readers. Some photograhs would have been nice.

one of the most precise book that I have ever read. If you want to know about Khomeini's personalities, why people of Iran follow him without knowing who he was, this is the book you need to read.It is not an easy read at all. But you will learn a lot.

It would have been better if it had pictures of Khomeini in the book.

This book is more of a history of what Ayatollah Khomeini did in his life, as opposed to an explanation of what drove him to be the revolutionary leader and theologian he was.I bought this book wanting to know what were his interpretations of Islamic scripture - even just the broad themes of his arguments would have been OK. I wanted to know what were the milestones on the road to radicalism -- and what factors made him stand out against the others. I wanted to know more about his interpersonal relations, both within his family and within the revolutionary movement.Unfortunately this book does not provide satisfying answers to these and other questions I wanted answers to.
