When you plug in for the first time, have your laptop open and active. You'll see the indicator in the corner that it's not an actual HP device. Same thing that happens when you use non HP printer cartridges, but just move on. Charges at the same fast rate of the OEM one.

Completely stopped working after two months. Buyer beware.

This charger seems to work fine. The only concern I have is the charger itself is stamped as a branded HP charger, but when you plug it in there is an HP System Event Utility notice that pops up and states "HP recommends using an original AC adapter from HP." Really not sure if it is branded HP why this would pop up.

In under 5 months of use, charger has stopped working completely. Connector tip isn't loose or damaged but the charger will no longer work. Charger was good while it lasted and did not get hot with use. Charged device quickly.

Full disclosure - I do not have an HP laptop. I ordered this to be a charger for my phone and other USB-C devices and this sucker WORKS. As many other reviewers have mentioned, there is NOT a USB-A port on it, but the listing must have been updated since, because I did not see any of the pictures they posted, so no skin off my back on that. This is a powerhouse of a 90W USBC charger, and that's it. 100% 5* rating from me. Good cord length. For $36, you could find a less expensive option for charging your USB-C devices, but I could only find 20W and 40W chargers, nothing in this range for any less $$ than this. IMO, a winner.
