This will require 2 people to put up, it is heavy. I think the base could be re-engineered to be easier to use since it is hard to keep the foot and 2 wooden bases all lined up while trying to set the right height. It looks great and feels solid. Even with the base issues, I would give it 5 stars if I could buy more shelves.

This cat tree is not easy to assemble and you have to be accurate. This tree takes a long time to put together. Once, it is assembled, it is very strudy.This cat tree is assembled with wood screws with no pilot holes to guide the screw into the connecting piece of wood and prevent the wood from spliting. I used a pin vise with a drill bit narrower than the screws to create holes. There are 60 holes/screws total to assemble this tree.Also, you have to make sure that all the pieces are completely level on the edges or the large pieces will not assemble straight. There are some friction fit pieces that will be difficult to fit as well. We assembled one large piece that was less than 1/16" (1.5 mm) off on the edges and it threw off the entire build.The inserts are friction fit. We had one pop out and spin on the part that adjusts height but that part is bolted with four bolts total so we aren't that concerned about the structures integrity.There are a lot of negatives with this cat pole but all-in-all, it is an extremely sturdy product. A few minor design adjustments, like pilot holes, could make this cat tree for a good product to an amazing product.

One of the cat shelves broke the first time my cat jumped on it. I wish there was a way I could get a replacement.UPDATE- seller gave me a discount and made the broken shelves right- great sellers!

The base and inaccurate sizing is the reason for the low review. It says up to 114", my ceiling is only 110" the base almost fully unthreaded and still had about 2in left at the top. As for the base, it is a single bolt that threads through a piece of wood that handles the fine adjustments when putting the tower up. It is not sturdy nor would I risk a single point of failure for my pets. If you are having to put the tower alone, making the final adjustments to the bolt WHILE holding the tower up is a juggling act haha. It would be a good product for nothing higher than 100" so you don't have to crank up base so high on the single bolt. Trying to repack for a return is also a pain. I took a partial refund so I could just toss it and make my life easier. Would be nice if the top had more holes closer together for easier adjusting at the top as well.

This took a bit to put together because of it's length but wasn't extremely difficult. This looks way classier than those tacky cheap carpet ones that you end up replacing once a year anyways. So it's worth the money to have a cleaner, neater look. And the cats love using it!

I purchased this cat tree purely for asthetics and I do like it. I ended up having to saw my cat tree down about a half inch because it was too long. It is also made of cheap balsam wood hence the reason in the instructions they advise not to use a power drill. And lastly, they need to include more of the large sized shelfs because a small cat can't even stretch out on one of the small shelves.

This cat tower has a really modern look which I like and once put together feels strong! There are no guide holes for part of the assembly, so make sure you have a power tool on hand. I didn’t realize it’s not made for a typical ceiling height - it’s for taller ceilings.
