This is the CUTEST book! Katie loves everything about winter. Especially skating on the pond near her house. Eventually she begins taking skating lessons, but she keeps falling down. Will she ever be ready for the competition? MY first graders loved everything about this book! The text is well written and engaging. The illustrations draw the reader into a winter wonderland.As a class we discussed the author's purpose for writing this book, and they all agreed she wanted us to learn to keep trying even when things seem hard. This led to a discussion on perseverance.This book will be a welcome addition to your bookshelf!

This is a delightful tale of a girl who loves to ice skate! I appreciate Katie’s ambition to develop her skills to compete, but also her enjoyment in the simpler things in life. We love this charming book.

Great children’s book by a first time author. Love the illustrations.

My daughter (4) loves this book. The olympics inspired her to want to try ice skating and we bought this book before starting. Her first class she would pop right back up every time she fell down. After class she said to me “did you see, Mom? I got back up and tried again just like Skatey Katie!” She had been using the book as motivation to keep going, made my book-loving mama heart so happy!

Skatey Katie is such a fun book! We really enjoyed it. Very positive messages! Especially perfect for the little skaters, but any child would enjoy it just for the colourful illustrations and sweet story.
