The Natural Djeka Leaves come in a resealable pouch with instructions on the back detailing the three different ways the leaves can be used. There is a best before date on the bottom of the pouch. I got it in September 2024 and the best before date is 23rd July 2026, so a fairly long shelf life.The product description states that the leaves are completely unprocessed, and looking at the leaves they do look and feel 100% natural with nothing added at all.The leaves can be used as an infusion, a herbal tea or for external use as a mouthwash etc. My preferred method of consumption is herbal tea. For this I pop a leaf into my cup infuser, pour boiling water into it, leave to stew for five minutes and voila!The taste in my opinion is somewhat of an acquired taste. Everyone's palate is different, and to me the leaves taste very 'earthy'. If I'm being truly honest, personally I'm not a great fan of the taste of the tea alone. I therefore need to add a drop of honey or a couple of drops of vanilla to my brews. The more I drink it, the more accustomed I become to the taste, however I still do prefer it with the honey or vanilla. I won't knock any stars off because of this as it would be unfair. It's my own personal preference rather than anything wrong with the product itself. Suffice to say, if one is looking to try Djeka leaves, these completely unprocessed one are really worth considering.
