If you intend to pump water from a pool to an irrigation system, you will need a hose that will not collapse under vacuum. You will need a strainer to prevent debris from entering pump. And, serious electric transfer pumps require a 1"NPT threaded connection to fit the intake port. Most importantly, you need some sort of check valve to prevent water from backflowing out of pump, resulting in loss of prime. This hose does all that. For less than 20 dollars. This hose is not nearly as well built as something you could buy at a pool supply store. But it does a great job for a fraction of the cost. It even includes a union which lets you attach hose to pump without having to twist the entire hose around in circles. Like with any hose, just make sure all connections are snug. And use teflon tape to protect against leakage around the threads. The hose is constructed of plastic, so it will float until it is completely filled with water. You don't want air pockets in your intake hose. I used a zip tie to attach a brick to my foot valve to keep it at the bottom of my pool. And, I held the hose underwater until it was filled. Once you get your pump working, you shouldn't have to worry about filling the hose. If you do get air back into the hose after use, check connections for air leaks. For the money, I think this is a pretty good deal. Not sure I could have bought the parts to build my own for $20. And, no telling how many stores I'd have to visit to find matching parts that would be airtight. This hose was delivered to my house as a complete system. I plan to put this hose through a very demanding pace this year. Expect to move about 5,000 gallons a month all summer and autumn. So, I'll update this review if it fails to perform as good as it has during the past month.

This hose is definitely good quality and tough but it is kind of like wrestling an anaconda. It is hard to keep it straightened out. It keeps wanting to revert to its rolled up state. For what I need, I think I would be better off with a less stiff, more flexible hose.

The suction hose collapsed and the pump overheated and was damaged. Do not purchase this product for a suction hose. The are not like the old green ones. My old green ones(10 years of heavy use) had the fittings go bad, so I purchased this one as a quick replacement. At first, the hose entrained air in through the factory installed fitting. It had to be tightened. Then ~3 hours after running the pump, the hose collapsed. Unfortunately, I was mowing the grass (8 acres) when this hose randomly failed and did not notice. By the time I noticed, the brand new pump was also overheated and damaged. I've been running setups like this since 2012 with no issues. This is the 4th pump/hose combination I've used. Not excuse for this lack of quality. I see I can no longer purchase the original suction hoses anymore. It's probably because cheap garbage like this hose put the other sellers out of business. Pay more and buy quality. Don't fall into this trap like me.

The media could not be loaded. Decent quality hose. Im pulling about 10 vertical feet and the suction causes a small bit of air to enter via fitting. I tightened to spec and it didn't do the ttrick. If I let sit overnight the check valve isn't strong enough to stop water from flowing down and re priming is necessary.

Exactly what I needed and no issues

came in a hose shape, worked for a long time to straighten out, never got totally straight. Don't have a solution for this, but is what it is ?

Product has been doing full duty this year and has been excellent. The screen on the hose had a defect in it and Lee with Fluent was great to deal with and promptly sent a replacement screen. I highly recommend the product and the seller.

This worked very well for me. Care is required in fitting the soft washer provided for between the tubing and the pump fitting. Over-tightening the nut can lead to the washer deforming and air leaks in the pump intake.
