I originally was not thrilled with this cushion and replaced it with a thinner, softer gel one. However, I now think that this was the best cushion that I could have bought for the reason below, and the following is very important to consider when buying a good chair cushion, as I learned. Read below.If you are sitting in a padded cushioned office chair but need some additional padding, then the thinner gel ones, I think, are better than this one. This cushion will tend to sit "on top of" a chair's cushion rather than add more comfort to that cushion. That felt uncomfortable to me because it couldn't compress much and tended to then pinch in on the sides of my back side. The density of this cushion is nothing like gel nor memory foam like that of a mattress. I found that it was best for me as a cushion on a hard surface such as a wooden, unpadded seat, rather than one that already is cushioned. It is really dense and slowly compresses as you sit down. Because of this, it maintains a nice, firm supportive structure and thickness regardless of how long you sit. It does compress, but only about half way. It stays that way for a long time and never really becomes hard.I still use the thinner gel cushions for added comfort in my car or with my office chair. But I always have a nice, atisfying "Ahhhh" when I sit down on a hard surface, using this cushion.I use these because of issues with the "sit bones." For anyone with this painful issue, this is THE best cushion you can get for sitting on hard chairs. Hope this helps someone !

The cushion flattens when I sit, and I did not find it supportive or cushioning my pelvic muscles , to relieve me from the pain of piriformis syndrome.

Now I don’t usually right reviews but I had to write one for this seat cushion! I bought this cushion for a very long 19 hour car ride each way! I have virtually no natural cushion on my butt so whenever I sit it’s on bone. I didn’t really think any cushion would help my situation but I was wrong. This cushion is so comfortable that I had almost no pain. I say almost because let’s face it sitting in one place for a long time no matter how much cushion you have can be uncomfortable. Anyway…this seat is cooling when you first sit down which was a nice surprise as well. It also gave me some extra height in the seat as I am short. After my trip I immediately put the cushion on my office chair and it is an absolute pleasure to sit on now.

I am in a wheelchair and so am on my bottom all the time and this cushion is the WORST! It was a waste of money. Spend the money and get the AUVON brand cushion!!! It’s much more comfortable; so much more I now have TWO of the other brand. If I could leave ZERO STARS I would. I kept trying to give this cushion the benefit of the doubt but to no avail, it still hurt my ass and never got better. Disappointed

It’s a great product for those road trips and long drives, I usually drive 3 to 4 times a year from SWLA to Dallas Texas and on this last trip it really made a difference .
