Cashel Accessory Bag for English Saddle

I use the bag on my English saddle and it works great with plenty of storage.

So I have two other pommel packs to compare with: Easycare stowaways and Trail Max pommel bags.A star means that ES and/or TM also has that feature.Pros:InsulatedVelcro attachments for d rings *Velcro attachment for billets (The other two use a sliding nylon strap buckle)Buckles for zipper haters. They clip together and apart easily with flaps to protect the inside.One side has a second inner pocketSide pockets are wide enough to fit a one liter hydration bladder.Cons:No fleece liner and for some insane reason there is a d ring on the bottom/back of each side pouch which rubs against the horse.The pockets are not deep enough for a standard hand held trimmer/shears or water bottle (trimmer pictured)The top compartment has a top velcro closed pouch. The velcro is JUST in the middle and the pouch opening faces the opposite way of the zippered lower compartment. So when you open the bottom zippered one and lift the lid, anything in the velcro pouch may fall out. See photo with arrows.Neutral:Due to the angle of the side pouches, this would work best for a saddle with forward flaps. Easycare and trail max bags would work better for dressage styles. To be fair, that is what they show in the photo.It does not have the little pouch pictured on cashel's website. I added a stock photo to show what is missing.Why can't both side pockets have the inside pocket?What I would change to make them my favorites:Line it with fleece, move those D rings to the side furthest from the saddleFlip the top velcro pouch opening aroundMake deep enough for basic hand shears/knife/standard bottle (not the tall ones, I do like that the bags don't cover the entire horse)ORAdd a spot to attach shears/toolsAdd a matching interior pocket to the other side

I really like it, I tried it for the first time yesterday on a long ride and it works great!! It's a little overpriced, but there are not many choices for front saddle bags for english saddles, in my opinion, it's worth the price

This is a great product. It has two manner of attachment so it doesn't bang on my horse even at a canter. It's easy to use while you're riding. The only drawback I found was when being kind of restful, it does rub on your hands, so bring some gloves.

Much too big for a front english saddle bag. Did not have the top pouch. Returned, disappointed.

This English Saddle bag fits on everything from bareback pads to dressage saddles. The middle pocket is easy to get to for my phone, lip balm, hoof pick, etcetera, and the side pockets are deep and practical for water bottles, sunscreen, bear spray, and what have you. I wanted a bag that fit the pommel of my saddle because of the ease of access and safely factors involved with spinning around in the saddle to impractically reach for something when a tree branch is coming your way. I highly recommend this Saddle Bag from Cashel. It's durable too!
