The Singers Musical Theatre Anthology Volume 1 Baritone/Bass | Broadway Vocal Selections Songbook | Piano Accompaniment Sheet Music Book for Baritone ... Musical Theatre Anthology (Songbooks))

A well-known resource
The Musical Theater Anthology series has been out for quite some time now, and doesn't really need another review, but just to recap: the songs are all in original keys, and the accompaniments are all from the original scores, the orchestral reductions. The volumes go more or less in chronological series, such that the earlier volumes are from earlier Broadway musicals, and the later volumes are from the more contemporary repertoire (hence you won't find any of the songs from Rent in volumes I or II, nor South Pacific in volume V). They're a good resource for professionals and serious avocational performers, and a sound investment for any voice teacher to have all all published volumes in all voice types in his/her library. A new volume seems to come out every 3-4 years.

Has good piano accompanyment
Many books like this tend to have very simplistic accompaniment for the vocals. But, this one really does a good job on the accompaniment. It also provides the complete song, not just a shortened version.

An excellent volume of theatre songs for Baritone
I have used this volume for many years. It's a great resource for baritones and the guys who sing tenor II. There are many fine songs included in this book.

Great book of songs from multiple musicals
My voice coach has been using this book for a long time and asked me to buy a copy. I enjoy the songs very much. I look forward to years of use!

Poor Printing, Excellent Music
Several of the songs were poorly printed into the score (ie: no where close to straight). I would imagine this means that there is a quality control issue at Hal Leonard, Co. However, as a performer and music instructor, this series are the most competitive in the business at getting the job done.

Must Have for Serious Singers
This book is essential for the serious baritone/bass singer who wants music right at his finger tips. My husband is in musical theater and vocal performance and he carries this on his person pretty much at all times.

65 Year Old started singing lessons end of last year - Just the job for the price.
Started singing lessons, end of last year, for try/fun, but has taken on legs of its own and started to become serious.Apparently I am a baritone with an "interesting" range !! , ideally suited to the old show tunes - new territory for a 60's Rock &Blues man. When I hear somthing I fancy trying to sing, easy to down load lyrics, but getting hold of the "dots" for my teacher to play, has proved more difficult and relatively expensive. This book provides a good selection of songs at a fair price. Have not yet checked, but hope there is more of the same ?

I needed this book for my grade 6 singing exam. It was the only book that I could find that had the correct version in it.
