It’s easy to make waterproof connections with crimp connectors, a crimper with the right jaws, a heat gun, and adhesive lined heatshrink of the right diameter, but sometimes you don’t have all those components at hand, or you want to be able to reopen the connection for future repairs or replacement. Most alternative means for the latter require specialized connectors (e.g., Weatherpac, Deutsch) and special tools to install them. Hence, the advantage of these connectors, not merely because of the waterproof connection they provide but because of the minimal tools and other materials required. I have them in my offroad emergency repairs kit, as well as on hand at home for use installing and repairing yard lighting. They are not always my first choice, but they sometimes become an essential second option.

I made the mistake of thinking these would also allow easy disconnection of the wires, but alas they are more of a permanent junction point. That was my mistake though, as for what these are they function perfectly. Great to fix an existing power cord or to shorten the length between two floodlights.

I like stuff like this that just does what it says its going to do. I've put a couple of these to work on outdoor electrical connections that get pretty wet in the weather and I've had no issues whatsoever. Relatively easy to install - just don't lose the tiny screws that hold the wires down - and once you've got it all screwed together nice and tight, you can really see how water is going to really struggle to ever get in there. I'd be comfortable using these in any wet condition up to full submersion.

Heads up I received this through the Vine program.I needed to connect one wire, but I saw this was a SIX pack and figured I could keep the others for when new needs arise.Included in the pack are additional gaskets should you need to join thicker or thinner wires, note that in the the picture there are 12 large, 12 small and in the connectors themselves are the 12 medium sized gaskets (36 total). Having 36 gaskets means 24 are going in the trash which is a shame. the gaskets themselves are very tolerant of compression and do not wrinkle.There are also two yellow gaskets in the center, these appear to also be silicone and compress well when pressure is applied. I like that the casing has some flat spots incase you want to wrench on them.Overall, these look to be good to prevent water ingress and so I believe the IP68 rating.

Very easy to install and watertight. I’m using these to add a plug in power cord to my outdoor spotlights and they fit perfectly. I was using the outdoor rated gel wire nuts before with electrical tape but these make the install much neater and safer.
