Awesome resource for the Madison area
This book is a fantastic resource if you live in or near Madison. If you spend a little time with Google maps you can easily identify the paddles 30/45/60/90 minutes from you. The book is extremely well researched and includes shuttle routes for both car and bike. A great book.

Great resource, worth every penny!
This is an excellent book to help you plan your next paddling adventure in South Central Wisconsin. The details provided give you a great overview of what you will experience as you plan your next paddling trip. The maps are accurate, detailed, and help you navigate while paddling and driving. We are familiar with many of the rivers and lakes documented in the book and they are spot on. The book is a great compliment to other paddling resources available in planning your next trip. Worth every penny!

Would give a 5 IF in color and if the opportunities for fishing or other such activities were included - especially, but not limited to trout. Can't wait to use next spring or perhaps get in a couple this fall yet

The "Paddling Bible" for South Central Wis
Excellent resource for anyone looking to paddling anywhere in South Central Wisconsin. Well written with concise info on everything you need to know about where and when to paddle. Bauer does a great job of describing the "flavor" of each trip so you know what to expect or to find the types of trips you want, from quiet flat water floats, to wild and rugged trips for those looking for a challenge. He includes recommendations on water levels, time of year and type of boat ( canoe or kayak)for each trip. Bauer also includes interesting info about the surrounding area's history and info on restaurants, bars, shuttle routes and livery services. All in all a very comprehensive paddle guide.

An essential guide for the region!
This book is awesome! Not only is it wonderfully informative but it is VERY well written. Well worth the purchase if you plan to do some paddling in the covered region. As a resident of Milwaukee this is my new "bible" for kayaking adventures. Since buying a copy in August, I've managed to take three recommended trips and am SO grateful for guidance!!

started reading the descriptions of rivers I'm familiar with and found they were spot on and with excellent details for paddlers
Have long been a follower of Tim's "Miles Paddled" website so when I heard of this book I knew it was worth ordering. Received yesterday, started reading the descriptions of rivers I'm familiar with and found they were spot on and with excellent details for paddlers interested in this area of Wisconsin. I believe this book will become a standard reference for paddlers in the area, much like Svob's Paddling Wisconsin series is, only covering many rivers not in Svob's. Looking forward to researching (then paddling) the many new unfamiliar places described in this book. Nice job, Tim.

Looks brand new!
I was under the impression that I was purchasing a used book. It looks like no one ever opened! It came separately from Book Outpost Paper Tiger Books. Great price too!

Mr. Bauer's book is fantastic from cover to cover! This book is so well-researched and is loaded with an inspiring appreciation for the natural beauty of Wisconsin. Everything I need to plan a paddle is right here at my fingertips. I can't wait to get to some of these spots in my own kayak.
