With the right crimper tool, they work great
These are good quality, strong crimps. I used them to repair a few battery cables that had corroded, splicing in new sections of wire. I am very happy with how strongly they hold and how they looked before I covered them with shrink insulation. They are every bit as good as the crimps I have paid a fortune for at the auto parts store.

Nice thick connectors
About 1mm thick. great for crimping 8 AWG wires. The 6 AWG crimps are just big enough to intertwine two stranded 8 AWG together and crimp around both of them instead of the ends of each. I drilled out the marker in the middle.

Important option
- I was happy to find this item: essentially it contains large gauge bare metal butt connectors that have a separate heat shrink plastic tubing for placement over the connector. The obvious advantage over already-insulated butt connectors is that the crimp can be made on bare metal, then the insulation melted over the connector. (typically, when an insulated butt connector is used the force of a crimp puts holes in the soft insulation, necessitating covering the while insulated arrangement in another insulation layer--the whole thing gets pretty bulky. With this setup, you end up with fewer layers and less bulk.- The bare metal butt connectors are said to be (And look to be) tinned copper, which is favorable for marine applications.- One improvement, though, would have been making the insulation tubing longer. The segments provided are barely longer than the butt connector, so there's less overlap with the insulated wire. Make the insulation tubing pieces longer and you';d have a 5-star product!

2 colors of heat shrink tubes, copper connectors, nice sectioned storage case.
* Overall Impression:-This is a good value for a nice connector set with several styles and sizes of connectors included in a nice sectioned storage case.* Pros-what I liked and what worked well:-Good value for the styles, sizes, quality and quantity in the kit.-Good quality for the items in the kit.-88 items in the kit.-44 connectors, 44 heat shrink tubes.-Good variety of sizes included n the kit.-Styles included: metal connectors and heat shrink tubing.-2 colors of heat shrink tubing included.-Non insulated.-Copper crimp tubes, conductive, pure copper.-Shrink tube ratio: 2:1-Resistant to: corrosion, high temperature-Come in a hard plastic, clear, sectioned storage case that opens and closes easily and securely.-The storage case has a nice label on it with the item* Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:-No issues.* Tips & Thoughts:-Note, you will need your own compatible crimping device and heat shrink device to use with the heat shrink tubes and connectors, they are not included in the kit.-The listing pictures and details have pictures that show the style, sizes and measurements of what’s all included in the kit. It may help to refer to those to be sure the kit will have what you need.

works fine
They conned copper wire but the connectors are not copper. They do get the job done.

Good Tinned Copper Splices, Needs Better Heat Shrink
These are in fact tinned copper butt connectors, I cut several of them open to verify. I saw another reviewer mention that the butt splices are not copper, but these are actually better than bare copper because they will not oxidize or corrode as easily. They are definitely copper inside, see my pics. These splices are thick enough to provide a very secure crimp, and they are sized properly for 8, 6, and 4 gauge stranded wire. The heat shrink included may work in a pinch, but I do not recommend using it. The heat shrink is thin and not very durable, plus it is cut too small. It fits over the splices, but without a lot of room to spare on either side.I recommend getting some marine grade heat shrink that is lined with adhesive for a waterproof connection. Cut it longer than the pieces in this kit, it will do a better job protecting your splice connection.I am not going to knock off a star for the poor quality heat shrink because the kit is priced very well and represents a solid value, even if just for the butt splices.

Decent quality
Happy with them. They seem as good as any others. They appear to be copper with a plating of probably zinc. It could be another copper-colored material, but that's unlikely. So, five stars.
