Eye Opening
As a Criminolgy student finding out about the pro side of the death penalty, I found this book invaluable. Points were raised that I had never considered. An unbiased view was put across, always left with the ability to make up your own mind on the subject . A truely interesting book. A must read for anyone interested in this topic.

Review of Full Book
I believe this book touches on all topics that pertain to the death penalty. From public opinion and the false representation the media portrays the death penalty as to the overall benefits that come from it. Dr. Conklin evaluates and discusses misconceptions made by abolitionist by assessing different cases and religious views that are actually pro death penalty. The information stated in this book that was all properly analyzed diminishes false perceptions of the death penalty and provides clear facts as to why in all different circumstances this punishment is justified.

Though this may sounds as if it is a good thing, which it is to a certain extent
I agree with many of the standpoints in this essay. My only criticisms is that it is so logically sound. Though this may sounds as if it is a good thing, which it is to a certain extent, the problem is this an extremely ethical issue involving the value of human life. I applaud the mention of the "what would you do if you were in their shoes" arguments throughout the book, there is the counter argument is that just because somebody can do something so horrific to somebody, does it give us the right to kill them? Personally I think it does, but that does not change that fact that an anti-death penalty advocate could put that ethical dilemma at your feet. Personally, I believe a discussion diving into the ethical standpoints of what the death penalty is and the ethical reasoning behind it could enhance the books impact. Thank you.

At first I didn't like the plug of his material in his class
This book was written by one of my professor at school. He had us read it for extra credit for his class. At first I didn't like the plug of his material in his class. BUT I did enjoy reading it and it gave a different perspective than what is common about the death penalty. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a different view on the Death Penalty.
