I ordered this Hourglass Sand Timer,60 Minutes Sand Clock, Hour Glass for Gift,Hourglass Decor for Home, Desk,Office, for my husband.He’s fond of hourglasses, and recently I got our teenage son a small one for his room. My husband said if I found a nice one, he wouldn’t mind having one to put by his computer (he’s been working from home since 2020), so I’ve been looking for one since then.This is a nicely made hourglass. It’s fairly tall (about 10 1/2”) and has an attractive, masculine design. The bases are shiny black squares of wood, the supports are gold colored.The hourglass itself is made of clear glass, and the sand inside is a deep, inky black.This hourglass runs for 60 minutes per turn. The sales page says to allow for an extra five minutes or so, it could run slow or fast. We haven’t had a chance to time it yet, partly because both my husband and son are having a lot of fun turning the hourglass over and over.My family loves vintage design, period clothing, antique furniture. Our living room could be from the Victorian or Edwardian era, if you ignore the charging station for our phones and screens and the vintage working Pepsi machine lurking in one corner. The rest of the room really could be from another era.We all love the beautiful, well-crafted, quintessential pieces that have drifted away from regular use in modern life, and we try to preserve them in our home. We have shelves of leather bound vintage and antique books, some first editions. I’m a writer, and I love fountain pens. My husband adores swords, he has weapons from centuries gone by on the walls of our house. My kid even collects vintage technology, though he keeps it upstairs in his room.The hourglass fits our house and our style nicely. We live in NYC, a city where everything goes too quickly all the time. There’s something lovely about taking a moment out from the ongoing chaos to watch a slight stream of narrow black sand drop through the neck of a glass hourglass.By the way, the sales page says this is made of rainbow glass, but the hourglass we received is made from clear glass. We are very pleased with this, we looked at other versions of the hourglass with the rainbow glass, and the clear glass was our preference.Want a bit of old school style and charm? Overall the hourglass itself is made well and the sand drops down consistently. The frame however I had an issue with. Out of the box there were 2 nuts that were loose in the box. I had to put them back on only to find the rods were slightly too short. After some modifying on my own I was able to get the nuts back on.The quality control needs to be better for the frame that holds it together. Other than that it’s a nice hour glass that my girls love watching at the table.

A family member is really into precision hourglasses so I got this one to be part of the collection. It arrived well packaged and surprised me with how pretty it was when I removed the Styrofoam. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from "rainbow" glass, but it is softly pretty and not gaudy.I ordered the white sand version and the iridescence of the glass gives the sand a beautiful hue (it was hard to photograph). The bases are of finished wood and it sits on rounded cap nuts on either end. The fit and finish is good and I would not hesitate in giving one of these as a gift.I timed it at 1 hour, 38 seconds, which is well within the +/- 5 minutes deviation given by the vendor. The hourglass itself looks to be well made.A fun thing to do with an hourglass is put it on your desk or shelf behind your head during a work meeting and watch how many people can't take their eyes off of it. It's a good visual reminder of where you are in the length of the meeting.Two thumbs up for a beautiful and practical product! :)

I'm an old soul, so I absolutely had to grab this, and the pictures don't even do it justice.The design is fairly simple, but with a timeless elegance.The black and gold makes it feel luxurious, and once I get a proper bookshelf, this will be displayed upon it with pride.Watching the black sand trickle through the middle is extremely relaxing for me personally.It's a nice size too, not tiny, but not too big to sit on a shelf or desk.I haven't personally time checked it, but that feature doesn't really matter to me.

This hour glass is really gorgeous. It has almost a pearlescent look to it, especially with the white sand inside. However, it is also very accurate. I flipped it and set a timer, and it took about an hour and 20 seconds for the sand to run out. That is pretty impressive. It arrived in great condition, with no damage and looks great on the mantel. I definitely recommend!

my kids are always fighting over which hour timer on Alexa is theirs. this solves that! very nice look, good quality, and cool to watch! overall our household likes it!
