has its downsides....
I have bought one of these for my 6 y old daughter.Works fine for kids learning, but has several downsides to it:when you try to input characters, online certain ways you can do it, which might disappoint you, so you have to learn to write in its own way to handle the software, besides functionality wise, it only lets you advance to certain levels, once you completed the previous perfectly.... On the other hand, the concept behind the game is good!

not good
i always read the review at amazon, yes they are right! for some unknown cause it did not let you pass the level??!even me and somebody else tried it too. we tried the instruction, do it our way but what ever we do it do not let you pass after some level..so we never got the parts and my daughters were quite upset about that.

Junior Maths Brain Training
Purchased this for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. The software contains various challenges which will improve your child's skill levels. As they progress further additional challenges are unlocked. Challenges are fun and varied, admittedly some are probably more suited to older children but there's plenty at the right level too. This is well designed package that I can thoroughly recommend.

Other than that a good idea for learning
Seems ok but son seems on the same questions and it doesn't seem to ask anything else or unlock anything until you have mastered certain questions but after the first day he has not been back to it so we shall see. Other than that a good idea for learning.

Gets boring after a while
Like most DS games, this is a great way to pass some time, but lacks the range and complexity of pc or console games. It is good for improving general number confidence, but is not going to stretch them for long. However, if you have a reluctant learner it may just get them working.

My 8 year old is really enjoying this. When originally bought at 6 and half she found it a bit too challenging.
Good ds game to help practice maths skills. Bought this when my daughter was around 6 and a half and she found some of it too hard to start with (she is very good at maths for her age). However I would say that she has grown in to it well, and now at 8 is finding it great fun, and manages the tasks. Tasks completed to a certain level win you parts for an aeroplane. background is some mice trying to beat a baddy.Has addition, subtraction, missing number, maze type games.

very tricky to write the numbers on
I bought this for my daughter, it's very similar to all the online teaching games, however the frustation of trying to get the answer accepted by the game is too great to bother with. The game times out while you are trying again and again and again to get it to accept the digit that you have to write in with the stylo. It needs a software update as we are not robots and cannot always do a perfect number '8'!
