Q: what is the grain size of this sand?

Much bigger than oolite, but much smaller than pebbled gravel. It looks like very small grained crushed coral

Q: Is this ok for freshwater aquarium?

That really depends on the species being kept. This is pure aragonite so it has buffering properties and will raise the ph. Great for cichlids and other species that like alkaline water, not so great for freshwater Angel's and other species that prefer a lower ph

Q: is this good for betta fish?

No aragonite is used for fish who require a high ph like saltwater or African cichlids. Higher than what beta require.

Q: Can this be used in an Axolotl tank?

No, this is for marine aquariums which are saltwater, try Stoney River brand aquarium sand.
