More Free-Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3: 62 Fast-and-Fun Designs to Finish Your Quilts

Lori does such a great job of illustrating step by step processes for free motion quilting designs. I highly recommend this book!

I have been machine quilting with my table top sewing machine for years. I do large quilts to table runners. I love to do feathers and used them a lot, but I felt a bit bored with them. This book has sparked a lot of ideas for expanding my quilting. The instructions/illustrations are very clear. I wish the book included some illustrations of using the various designs on pieced designs or quilts. Even as an experienced home sewing machine free-motion quilter, I learned useful tips reading the introduction and skill building sections of the book.

I have to admit right up front that I'm a fan of Lori's free-motion quilting motifs and have read her articles in each American Quilter magazine for quite some time. I also have both of her Craftsy classes (which I highly recommend).I really like this book ... maybe not quite as much as the first one "Free-Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3" simply because a lot of the designs in the new book are better suited as standalone motifs or repeated in borders and not really suitable as unmarked background fill which is my current passion. There are, however, lots of really cute motifs which are broken down into the following categories: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Celebrations, Just for Fun (includes sewing scissors, tomato pincushion, needle and thread, spools of thread, dog bones, kitty, and circus train), and Backgrounds and Fills.If I had do-overs, would I buy this book again? Most definitely YES.

Has Only suggestions for free motion design

I teach free motion quilting to guilds, and this is one of two authors I recommend that students purchase. She covers the basics thoroughly in well-written prose, then takes us flying off into FMQ with inventive designs and easy-to-follow directions. I also use it for a reference (actually I use BOTH of her books as a reference) when I'm stuck on what to do. I recommend this highly!

This is great for free-motion quilters since she shows you step by step how to make the designs. It is great fun and inspires you to create your own!

Lori Kennedy has done it again!! In a style that is uniquely her own, Lori has given us loads of tips for free-motion success (like how to get the "perfect stitch", stitch refinement, knot tying, design considerations, tips for working with big quilts, border tips, and more) AND a bounty of her designs - from elegant to whimsical and everything in between!! The designs - and there are many - are divided by season (winter, spring, summer, and fall), celebrations, "just for fun", and a section on backgrounds and fills. Paging through, I'm drooling over Perfect Poinsettias and Pretty Pinecones and smiling over baby bunnies, birds, several spring flowers, starfish, and - one of my all-time favorites - Olivia the Owl! Lori's imagination-turned-to-stitches is vast, and we quilters benefit from her creativity! Thanks, Lori! I can hardly wait to get to my machine!!!!

Love this unique approach to free motion quilting. The book is a handy addition to Lori Kennedy’s website. I have made a number of projects using her techniques.
