Another delightful and wonderful read by Amanda Prowse!
This book should come with a food warning! Trust me, before you start this book, make sure you have plenty of cake or pastries to hand because believe me, you are going to be craving them whilst reading this story. Am sure in some parts I was even drooling!Pru Plum is in her sixties and runs a successful bakery. She lives above the business along with her cousin Milly and niece Bobby. The story starts off quite light hearted of which overall there is a lot of lightness to it but also a lot of heartache. Itβs hard not to go through the same emotions as Pru does through the novel as the more I got to know her character, the closer I felt to her. There is an awful lot of mention of food in the book, mainly of the sweet kind. There is even a recipe for one of the items at the end of the book. I wonβt tell you which one as it was very much a sweet surprise! Along with delicious sweet treats, the story deals with loss and moving forward. Itβs also about coming to terms with things from the past. I loved the relationship especially between Pru and Milly, there is a wonderful bond between the two.A Little Love was a sweet and engaging story where more than a few of the characters captured my heart. It was a book that I didnβt want to end as I could quite happily have carried on sharing the day to day lives with these characters. It wasnβt until I finished the book I realised just how much it had stolen my heart. Another delightful and wonderful read by Amanda Prowse!

Beautiful story
This was the first book of Amanda Prowse's that I bought and read, back in 2014 and have just discovered I was not doing book reviews back then, so thought I would put things right and write one.The characters in this book are so true to life, surely everyone has shameful secrets from their past like Pru Plum, and want to protect them at all costs. Her outward facade is of a woman who has it all, is beautiful, elegant and successful, but at what price? Along the way she has missed out on love.I love the descriptions of all the different cakes and pastries that Plum Patisserie sells and would love to visit one day, but I guess it only exists in Amanda Prowse's imagination, which is a shame.Great book, and looking forward to reading the rest of the No Greater Love series of books.

Easy reading and a good story.
I like the style of Amanda Prowse's writing and the book kept me interested throughout. The description of heart warming, which has been used to describe it, is very accurate and the book has plenty of feel good factor. Just what we all need at the moment!!!!

Pure decadence
I eagerly awaited this novel and when it arrived, we stayed together for an afternoon and two evenings until I reached the finale. And it was wonderful! This is a beautiful love story with an unconventional protagonist - a woman in her sixties with a slightly colourful past. Hooray for the more mature ladies! What I liked most was that just as I settled in to what seemed a straightforward story at the start, the author took me in an entirely unexpected direction with twists aplenty - the kind that make you have to keep turning pages and find out where it will all lead. All the ingredients of a great book. This is lovely and yes, there is lots of cake and I tasted all of them! I agree with a previous reviewer, this also reminded me of Joanne Harris's Chocolat and I felt in the writing there were shades of the wonderful foodie elements in Eat Pray Love. I love cake and I like a bit of romantic escapism so this was pure decadence - an indulgence for me. Time to myself, feet up, immersing myself in a gorgeous, love story from a wonderful story teller. A real treat. I was immersed - mystery, smooching, a happy ever after and CAKE. CAKE!!! Gorgeous literary escapism. Do it!! When does the film come out?

Delicious descriptions.
I enjoyed this for what it is; chick lit for older women. Generally Amanda Prowse writes very, very well. However towards the end there is the sort of grammatical error unforgivable in a teenager, never mind a mature writer. This was in the Kindle version, so I hope it will have been edited out of the paperback. 'Would of', instead of 'would have' is terribly poor. One sees it everywhere, but it should not appear in literature. No excuse! That aside, this is an enjoyable story, with some divine descriptions and the obligatory happy ending. Furthermore baby Lucas sounded utterly gorgeous!

A Little Love
I enjoyed this book it had a lovely story to it albeit a bit sad too. I liked the characters in this book and it was nice that it involved people of a more mature age falling in love. I like the imagination of acutally losing yourself in the little bakery shop and smell the wonderful cakes that were cooking. It was comforting. I felt some parts a little obscured and thought that wouldn't have happened but nevertheless enjoyable. Light reading not too much to work out you know how it's going to end Happy!Very good I would recommend this to my friends.

Brilliant
Another great novel Amanda , it shows that true love can take its time, but Prue and her cousin Milly had had a hard life , but being strong women, they made a success of it. Such a wonderful storyline, and as usual I feel every hurt that happens to them . Thank you Amanda for another night of not turning the bedside lamp off. because I am engrossed in the novel , I am reading them in the wrong order, but meeting old friends in each book .
