Fowler54-860-661-0 Point Anvil and Spindle Digital Micrometer with 0–1" Range

I had this micrometer for about 2 years now and can't complain. The ratchet mechanism works nicely. Battery life is good, and didn't observe battery draining when the device is off. Repeatability is very good; it helps to keep the measurement areas clean and make contact with the piece slowly, which should be standard procedure for any micrometer. Works great for my needs.

The contact point; one diameter is slightly different from the other. Doesn't seem to make any difference. The auto shut-off sometimes works in a minute instead of the 5-7 minutes they claim. That can be annoying, not critical. Once, it may have been me, I had to recalibrate after it auto shut down. It most definitely is accurate on flat surfaces. I've had no problems on curved surfaces(e.g. drill or end mill cores). Overall a good buy.
