Horror based on a true story. On November 13, 1974, Suffolk County Police received a frantic phone call that led them to 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, Long Island. Inside the large Dutch Colonial house, they discovered a horrific crime scene that shattered the landscape of the typically peaceful community: an entire family had been slaughtered in their beds. In the days that followed, Ronald DeFeo, Jr. (Brendan Donaldson), confessed to methodically shooting his parents and four siblings with a rifle while they slept, claiming 'voices' in the house drove him to commit the grisly murders. One year later, George (Ryan Reynolds) and Kathy Lutz (Melissa George) and their children moved into the house thinking they'd found their dream home. But shortly after settling in, bizarre and inexplicable events began to occur - nightmarish visions and haunting voices from an evil presence still lurking within the house. Confused and frightened by her daughter Chelsea's (Chloe Moretz) cryptic interaction with an imaginary friend named Jodie (Isabel Conner), Kathy struggles to hold her family together as George's increasingly strange behavior finds him spending days and nights in the basement of the house, where he soon discovers a passageway to a mysterious and gruesome 'Red Room.' With lucid visions and evil voices swirling through George's head, the house comes alive in a terrifying climax that finds him carrying out the spine-chilling events that would become forever known as The Amityville Horror.

Good film
Good film - definitely worth a watch. Loved it. I saw a documentary on the filming of this and apparently strange things were going on in the house. Melissa George had a few experiences and at one stage said she didn't want to be left alone at any time. She said there were definitely creepy goings on when filming on location in the house - oo oo oo

Love it M George!!!!
M George plays a brilliant part in this film. the remake of this true story I think is much better than the original, it has more on the edge seat moments than the James Brolin one. and Ryan Reynolds plays a fabulous part as well, its well acted by both of them.

"..A FUN CLASSIC HORROR STORY.."
This review is for The Amityville Horror 2005 Italian Blu-ray. (English language movie)PLOT...Newlyweds are terrorized by demonic forces after moving into a large house that was the site of a grisly mass murder a year before.The 2005 Amityville horror is still a great movie, maybe not as scary as some movies of its kind but good old classic scary haunted house fun none the less, mainly driven by a strong cast, Ryan Reynolds and the lovely Melissa George, plus younger appearances from Chloë Grace Moretz as their daughter and Rachel Nichols as the sexy babysitter. The movie is well paced out, starts with a nice couple with children who want a fresh start and movie into the wrong house! It slowly starts getting into their heads and leads up to what could be another massacre! Great fun performances and mild jump scares etc, some bloody gory imagery in places. Worth checking out if you like a simple horror on a decent budget.The Blu-ray looks great in HD.No features. Region B UK. Running time 91mins. 2005.The Italian Blu-ray import plays in the original English audio, and Spanish.Subtitles can be turned off.

Very prompt delivery, came within a couple of days gladly as it was a gift!Excellent condition and working order.Brilliant film, gave as a gift to a 19 year old boy who also enjoyed it.
