My 10 year old daughter needed this book to prepare for the French DELF PRIM A1 exam. This book and accompanying CD prepared her beautifully. It's a colour workbook which covers the DELF prim A1 syllabus thoroughly. There is an exam at the end of each unit. If you are helping your child at home, you would need to know some French; at least O Level to help her out because there are no answers provided in the back (that's why minus 1 star because I had to study the exercises as well in order to get answers). However, there are written transcripts of the CD which you can read to find answers to the audio sections. Please note that everything, including instructions, table of contents and even small print is all in French, which at first I found a little strange since DELF exams are written for foreigners/non-French. But I guess the total immersion helped both me and my daughter somewhat as we could not fall back on any English anywhere when we were stuck.I can't seem to find a DELF PRIM A2 text like this one, but this book was good enough for both A1 and A2 plus some additional past tense practice. Past exam papers are free on the ciep website. You will also need a French dictionary and a Verb book. Definitely worth buying.
