Really Useful Digital Converter
Well made product with a metal case giving the item a quality feel. The unit requires power to work and the supplied USB lead needs connecting into a USB socket on the appliance requiring the digital output signal to be converted (Toslink to coax or vice versa). In my case the appliance was an old Tascam DAT player/recorder that did not have a USB socket and so a stand alone mains USB charger for a mobile phone etc had to be purchased (approx £10). Connection to the phono output (in my case) passes this signal through the unit whilst at the same time making the optical (Toslink/SPDIF) signal available as well. As an experiment I was able to check sound quality by passing these signals into sepatate stand alone DACs and then into my HiFi. To my ears there was no difference to either of the played back signals so it seems that the unit in no way degrades the sound. A useful and flexible converter if one needs to convert an audio digital output stream from one form to another. My only minor criticism is the very bright red power indicator LED. All in all highly recommended.

Great DAC in a small package
This DAC is great if you have a laptop or TV with a TOSlink. The sound quality is amazing for the size of the device. I tried it with my Sennheiser Momentum headphones and it clearly provides sound that rivals my much more expensive components. Classical music, like Vivaldi Four Seasons, sounds neutral with extended mids and good lows. Soundstage is excellent with a layering that brings out every instrument group. Dolby decoding works well with headphones. Frequency response is good especially in rock music like the new Ghost CD. All in all a very nice portable package for a great price. I wish it would take USB.

Good little box
I used this product to connect my LG 4k Blu-ray player to my Soundbar. It works very well and I have amazing sound from my soundbar. The only negative is that you have to unplug the power cable to the box after use as for some reason it doesn’t work the next time you put the Blu-ray player on.

Does the job effectively.
This device is easy to connect and it hold cables securely. I got it out of the box and working on minutes. If you have two devices to connect and one has an optical cable and the other a coaxial cable then this connects them and converts the signal. Really easy to use and effective.

Broken and Doesn't Work
When I connected to my TV and soundbar it wouldn't work. On closer inspection I realised the light wasn't coming on when the power was connected and that there was a rattle coming from the inside. When I opened up the casing I discovered that the Micro USB port was broken.

Worked for a while, then didn't
I'm not sure if this doesn't work very well or if the equipment I'm connecting it to to isn't compatible with this type of converter. It seemed to work initially and then stopped. While it was working it seemed fine.

Solid construction, works well
It works great, the box is built well, very solid construction, and the sound quality is very good. I also got 2 of them in my order, even though I only ordered one. I thought at first it was one for each direction, but they are both bi-directional so not sure. Not complaining though, now I have a spare.

It just works
I wanted to connect a Line 6 Helix to an Audient Evo 16 digitally; one uses an RCA electrical connection the other optical. This little box allows the two to exchange digital audio. As long as you have a USB power source available it just works
