For the past two and a half years, my Rockport boots with Hydro-Shield waterproofing have been an absolute workhorse. As someone with a five-day work week and a rough daily commute that throws everything from downpours to unexpected puddles my way, these boots have truly been put to the test – and they have passed with flying colors.The Hydro-Shield technology is no joke. Comfortable day one! True to size.

I love these boots. I knew I would, as I already had them in brown and wanted a black pair. My issue is the way they mailed them. They showed up in one of those thin plastic like envelope things and the box was absolutely destroyed. Besides that, these have most likely been sent out to someone else before me. That's fine, if you try on shoes in a store, chances are someone else has tried them on. But they showed up dirty. The bottom of the boots has stuff all over them and the tops of the boots had some scuffs. Overall, I would recommend these....they are comfortable, will withstand water, look good, etc. But come on Rockport, at least make sure they are clean before you mail them out and think about giving the box a little more protection, as I know you would have blamed me if I had sent them back.

First, I am very particular about my shoes and how they fit. And these fit great and over time stay that way. And thats why I've bought about 6 pairs thus far. Now you may ask, "6?" Yes, because the sole split in half on my left foot. After 4-6 months of normal wear as my work boot, mostly on smooth concrete floors. And I'd kept my aftermarket laces since the first pair since the ones that come with these last about a month before snapping. But not the ones I got at Walmart.The last pair, I contacted Rockport and they said not our prob, despite still under warranty, contact Amazon for them to handle. Looking at Amazon policy now, to replace these, they tell me to contact Rockport. So... this last will be my last

I love these boots. They are comfortable. I like the look. I've literally walked many miles in them, in many parts of the US and six countries in Europe. I like everything about them, except one word."Waterproof."They aren't. They aren't remotely waterproof. They aren't even "water resistant. I was shocked to find my feet getting damp walking on wet sidewalk and concrete. Wet grass? Soaked. I never wore them in the rain before I started trying to waterproof them myself, and I tried everything I could find. They would not "take" the added stuff, but they weren't waterproof themselves. Last fall in Belgium, I actually had to wear them in the rain. Oh my. Squeak, squish, slosh.I'm sorry to have to search for something else, but-- especially when traveling-- I really need "waterproof" shoes to BE waterproof, and these aren't.Great walking boot (once you replace the laces, which are really cheap crap). But for dampness... find something else.

I put these on and they fit my feet perfectly right out of the box and were already comfortable to wear. They can definitely go through several inches of water and keep your feet dry. I brush them every time before I wear them and keep shoe trees in them, and sometimes wipe them with a damp rag if they are really dirty. They are good on slick surfaces. The only downside is that evidently I walk on my heels somewhat and after only 3 1/2 months the heels are badly worn. I have already ordered another identical pair to replace these. Hopefully the ones I ordered Work just as well as these do. Only wish the heels would last longer because everything else has held up well on the shoe. By the way, these shoes are used mostly for walking on concrete in a Third World country with plenty of foot hazards. I probably walk 5 miles a week in these.
