I love this series
Ok, this one was different than the others. I love this series, but this one wore on me. The story line was incredible (of course) and the events that happened were great and heart touching.. predictible because you knew something was going to happen to her, you saw it coming, so no shock when it happened.. but the thing that bugged me was the constant "reminder" that she was Black Ops and they all had PTSD. I guess because I have read the others and it was constantly mentioned in them, that by this time, I was tired of hearing it. Mention once or twice she was in the military. Did we need reminding it was black ops? Do those in black ops actually tell anyone, including fellow military? (I doubt it) .. and we know they have PTSD, how about discussing your issues with out telling us AGAIN that it is PTSD. I love to know the author makes the veterans to be heroic and determined to win their mental battles instead of crawling in a bottle or ending their lives, because not all are able to adapt and loose their battles with the flashbacks. It is motivating and heartwarming

Harper finds his other half
Another interesting story in the Wind River series. Against Ms. McKenna has framed the story about two PTSD sufferers and both have had experience in Black Ops. This particular one ramps up with a second kidnapping of Tara by the same perp who had kidnapped her a decade ago. Ms. McKenna has done a credible job of building in the maturity of time and experience into her lead characters. Both Tara and Harper, whom weβve come to love throughout the series are likable and admirable. The one detractor in the book is the significant amount of repetition and that is similar in style to all the books in the series.

Emotionally thrilling romantic adventure!
Heart pounding, emotional, action packed romantic adventure filled with humor, dramatic twists, passion and danger.Tara Dalton and Harper Sutton are part of a group of ex-military vets is putting their lives back together one step at a time on the Bar C Ranch and are struggling with PTSD. They are so sweet and right for each other perfect paring to work at healing together. While this is the fifth book in the series I did not feel lost at all starting here... however it was so entertaining I now must go search out the first four and hope they are just as thrilling to read.

PTSD sadly was part of veterans lives...
The story of Tara and Harper is about veterans of war where unspeakable incidents remain part of their lives. Learning to handle those tragedies and events is part of the recovery process of PTSD. I love the story of the ranch where these lives can recover; I love the idea that counseling has helped; and, I love the idea that there are medications being developed for anxiety that comes with this stress in life. Thanks for a nice book that can be enjoyed by anyone. It is not a Christian read, however, but written well.

Wind River Series
This is one of best books I have read in a long time. These books in this series is so informative about our returning war vets and gives us some insight into what they go through when they come home. It was a book that you sat on the edge of your chair to see what would happen next. Way to go Lindsay McKenna.
