Bought for our Grandson Lego Hogwarts express train. He has one of the original models of the train and after it works a treat. Good quality components.

My son was after a motorised Hogwarts Train which is when I came across this kit.I had already built the train set.The instructions did say if you have already built to take apart however I wouldn’t recommend unless you have the original build instructions. I managed to just take apart and amend the bits needed, it was a little confusing this way but the instructions are pretty decent otherwise (it does refer you in some parts to follow the manufacturer instructions hence don’t take it apart fully unless you have them!) I can’t say how good quality the rechargeable battery pack is but all the parts seem decent quality and there’s a charging cable supplied too. The remote isn’t the same quality as other ones we have and I noticed that the forward /backwards movements are the opposite of the movement but it seems to be a universal remote as has left/right functions that aren’t applicable to this train. Overall it was better value to buy this modification set then to buy it all separately and the seller has gone to impressive efforts with the instructions. I’m not planning on using the app but a quick glance and it seemed to be setup in another language.I would recommend this as I struggled to find anything else on the market that had everything I needed :-)

Fitted same day as it arrived and it worked immediately

Remote control commands the train start at highest speed and requires you to continuously hold the button to get go. Theirs no speed control with the remote like the name brand,which is probably why the motor keeps popping off the frame of the train. I'll be returning this as if fell short of mine and my son's expectations.

I first built it the way the plan’s showed but didn’t like the way it hung out the back of cab so l made some big changes and used some other technical parts and got the motor well into the train and I’m very happy
