Take your time...redoing your steering wheel
THEE, most important thing about a redo on a wheel is taking your time. Carefully sand with no more than 320 grit paper and use finer grades as you get close to your desired smoothness. 400 to 600 grit.If you're color matching the dyes, also take your time to get the right color. Once you have what you want, make sure you have enough to finish the wheel entirely, because trying to mix another "batch to match" will be difficult. If you have extra, don't worry. seal the extra dye in a bag and take out as much air as possible. Do another coat as there will be spots on the back side or in corners you'll miss.Don't use the filler compound provided. I suggest using baking soda and crazy glue. Works faster and sands down better.Apply at least 4-5 coats of the satin sealer, more if your wheel is still a little rough. I tried sanding with 1000 grit between coats, meh...don't need to.Everything cleans up great with water. Remember to wash the satin finish out of the sponge applicator.I haven't given this a long term use, so I'm hoping it works well.I was quoted $350 to do the same job. I'm sure he'd perfectly color match and smooth out the leather, but I'm really happy with the outcome and highly suggest this product.

This Product Works on Extremely Well and is Easy to Use
Wuhan virus project #3: I used this product to restore the leather steering wheel on my 25 year old truck. It was easy to use and the end product was beautiful. Cleaning and preparation are key to a good outcome. I mixed the dark grey with the darkening agent and the charcoal color I wanted was almost a perfect match to the original. I did use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. Lastly, I applied a satin finisher that was also very easy to use. Looks as good as the original and is factory new in appearance. Just followed the directions. Unfortunately, I can't post a photo here.

Didn’t work for us
Couldn’t quite get the correct color, even with adding a large amount of black to the darkest of the three grey colors. It looked too fake, even after it dried. I think if you’re able to get a good color match it may be a good product for you.

Boots saved
I used this to repair a pair of boots that had been damaged by over spray from spray paint. It completely covered the paint and the damage from me trying to remove it. It is not exactly like the original finish, but it made my boots wearable again.
