PORTER-CABLE 20V MAX* Cordless Drill/Driver, 1/2-Inch, Tool Only (PCC601LB)

I have used Porter Cable tools for my home and in a home repair business for several years. Very durable and dependable. The batteries are just as reliable to finish the job.

For a do it yourselfer like me for around the house repairs and such it’s perfect. 2 speed gears and 1/2” chuck is what sold me and 2 batteries. I will never be using it all day so I don’t need the big battery packs. Fits with all my old bits and parts. The 20 Volt is marketing, but 18 is fine for me. Porter Cable was a great name but now they are owned by Stanley or someone, the same as Craftsman. The line may get phased out so if this a worry just stock up on some extra battery packs. All in all great value, plenty of power, lightweight, and easy to use. Recommended highly for any household use concerning a numerous array of applications.

Bought this one for my son. Mine has performed for 5 plus years flawlessly.

Small -good small:), lightweight, powerful and compact but it started to act up right away. At first I thought the trigger was going out and that was only after a few days of minimum use. It appeared at first that it acted up only with one of the batteries so I messaged the seller and got a quick reply and then I called Porter Cable support and explained to them the issue and they said they would send another battery to replace the "bad" one and lo and behold, they sent me 2!!! That was cool except that the new one's are red and the original's are gray and black!! Since then after continuing to use the drill it still acts up as if the trigger is going out - it stops after a few minuttes of use and then I have to pull the trigger again to start up the motor again:(:( Not good. I'm off work now but when I return to work and use it again we'll see if it's just the one battery or if the unit itself is bad and will have to replace it if it's defective., Stand by!:):)

I have not used this unit a lot, but so far it operates very good. Yes, buy this set. This drill unit comes with a fabric bag not a plastic case. The bag is plenty large enough for both batteries, charger, drill, and other items. It is now 4/16/15, I have used this cordless drill set. This unit works so much better than my old 12 volt Dewalt from 12 years ago. Today I had a request from amazon too answer a question from Omar Rodriguez on how long it takes to charge the batteries. My booklet says it takes for my PCC691L charger about 65-200 mins. This is the medium speed charger provided with my unit. This unit has a laser beam to guide your contact point to drill or to remove/replace fasteners. It stands up on it's own, so you do not have to lay it down. When you squeeze the trigger you fell the power. It' a very good unit to buy.

I needed a cordless drill for working around the house last year. Making repairs on the eve of the roof required a cordless drill and driver. I went to the hardware store and ended up buying this model. Up to this point I avoided cordless models for many reasons. As an occasional user, it was not really necessary for me.I was pleasantly surprised, this drill is powerful and portable. It has a great amount of torque for driving fasteners fast and precisely. I went through the daily chores with ease and precision. The batteries charge fast and I never found myself out of charge. It has been over six months now and even the use being sporadic after that summer project week, the drill/driver keeps on performing really good. The grip is rubberized and comfortable to hold. All controls can be actuated without having to remove your hand off the grip. LED's point to the area of work shedding light on them.The drill comes with two batteries, a battery charger and a carrying bag. The keyless chuck allow you to put and remove bits easily. It is powerful but not noisy or whiny. My son asked to borrow mine and after using it for a weekend told me "I can surely use one like this as a gift" an this is why a bought a second one. This one is a gift for my son. I am sure that he is going to get many years of use out of it.

Outside box looks like it had been stored in somebody's garage or shed 4 months. battery would not charge inside. Box packaging looked damaged as well completely disappointed

I have several Porter Cable tools and they all are very good in my hands. I am a DIYer so it is not put to the heavy, hard work of a construction site, but I predict it would hold up well there as well. I especially like the two battery packs that come with it with a charger. As well, the battery pack fits my other PC tools and are easily interchangeable Very pleased with the quality and bang for the buck!

Hubo un inconveniente con la de las pilas la primera vez que la cargue me decía que la pila estaba muerta o defectuosa pero cómo se un poco de electrónica las puse a trabajar en un rato.

Compre el producto con la promesa de que tenía 2 pilas y ninguna de las dos funcionó las dejé cargando como indica su manual.

Bought for Dad as he lost the batteries for his other on the jobsite. He likes it, good quality for the price.
