Riveting!
With so many potential bad guys, this book has the reader engaged from page 1. A plane crash, a deserted island, snakes...need I say more??? Brothers must work together to escape death. This is a well-loved book in my FVR library and I can't wait to read the sequel!!!

My Level One Spanish students can't wait to read this!
As my students were testing on Friday, I walked around reading this book in between answering questions. My students noticed how into the book I was and all that asked me about the book expressed their interest in reading it after I told them what it's about and let them read through the first chapter. This is a definite MUST HAVE for all FVR libraries!

A Well Written Action and Adventure Tale - ¡en español!
La isla más peligrosa is as captivating as it is comprehensible. Written primarily in the present tense, the reader is immediately taken on an adventure - one far more complex than might be imagined given the fewer than 200 unique words between the covers. John Sifert's ability to keep the vocabulary tight and the plot tighter is a gift, as there is nothing lost even given the parameters of vocabulary. The characters are well defined and the story moves along swiftly. This book is ideal for anyone reading to hone his/her skills in Spanish, but it is a dream for those beginning level Spanish teachers who will need to entice those students who require action and adventure. This is John Sifert's debut novel, but it reads as if he's been writing for a long time! Hopefully there will a sequel (or a prequel) soon!

Comprehensible and Super Compelling!
This is a great book for learners of Spanish and those looking for a comprehensible story with intrigue and adventure. It’s a little mysterious, little “Lost”-esque and very captivating. My students have enjoyed this in our free reading library; each time we read a new kid races to get to the story first. Its great as a free reading option, lit circle or whole class novel.

A beginning book that is captivating
As ithers have said, tus bood starts out with a bang and keeps the action coming right to the end. It is one I'd recommend to any of my students. It is not a super easy book and i'd recommend it for late 1st year 2nd year. It is in the present tense with tons of cognates.

"La isla más peligrosa" by John Sifert is a wonderful book and a must add to any FVR
"La isla más peligrosa" by John Sifert is a wonderful book and a must add to any FVR. This book is interesting, short in length and accessible to Spanish students as young as 6th grade. It has a glossary in the back, but most of the vocabulary is very basic and there a lots of cognates. It's a very comprehensible reader. The story itself is mysterious and full of suspense, and my students really enjoyed reading it.

Action packed!
- The action starts on page one and doesn’t stop. John doesn’t waste time developing characters and setting, he jumps right into the action and lets readers piece together the details as they go. This makes for a more satisfying reward for the reader. Additionally, the large cast of characters, each with their own secrets and motivations, gives readers several storylines to follow. All the while, John weaves in cultural content and touches of humanity without either getting in the way of the story. I’ll be recommending this to readers who love action and adventure.
