Two wounded souls and one bad dog = HEA!!
The Dogfather(Daniel Kilcannon) did it again with a little or maybe a lot of divine intervention from several very special loved ones in Aiden and Beck’s lives. Aiden Kilcannon thought he was a career Army man (Night Stalker, specifically) until the death of his teenage best friend, Charlie. Before Charlie passes he begs Aiden to get his dog, Ruff, shipped home to the states using Aiden’s father to pull strings if he had to. With the passing of Charlie, Aiden decides it is time to come home to Waterford Farm. Waterford Farm is home to the largest dog rescue/training facility in North Carolina. Each of Aiden’s siblings manage very specialized segments of the business. Aiden struggles to find his place within his own family and the business. Upon Ruff’s arrival at Waterford farm Aiden learns that Charlie had sent a letter to his sister, Beck, stating that she should be the owner of Ruff. Aiden struggles with letting Ruff go to Beck. But, in the end he knows that giving Ruff to Beck is truly what would make Charlie happiest. Beck has struggled with loss too many times since she was 10. She lost her parents, moved to a new town leaving her friends, and now struggles with the loss of her brother. All the while having chosen to come back to Bitter Bark to help her aunt and uncle run their pizza business while Beck’s uncle is recovering from a mild stroke. As Aiden and Beck struggle to learn each other and where Ruff best fits in within their lives. They soon discover that Ruff’s true calling is to be a comforter/therapy dog to Beck’s uncle. Beck must face a difficult choice when her uncle, Aiden, and Ruff each face a life threatening situation. Will Beck be able to let go of past sorrows to grab hold with all her might to the possibility of a forever with Aiden? Does Aiden find his place within the Kilcannon family business? Read Ruff around the Edges to find out. I am so in love with this series. Each story is so heartfelt and loving that tissues are almost always needed. This is one of my most favorite types of stories, a big loving family who sticks together in the best of times and worst of times. I received an ARC of Ruff Around the Edges by Roxanne St. Claire in exchange for an honest review. This is one series that you can not go wrong with. Enjoy. I would also like to say thank you for your service to all the men and women who have chosen to serve their country.

Angels at work
Daniel Kilcannon has a gift and it has served him well as his family grows and glows more all the time. Of course he has some angelic assistance along with way and it is very prominent in Ruff Around the Edges. As Daniel's son, Aidan, tries to return to civilian life, the only hope he has of normalcy is his late best friend's mutt, Ruff. Getting the dog to the US from overseas is only the first obstacle he has to overcome to keep him, but Beck Spencer is definitely the prettiest.Aidan and Beck finally do some bonding over Ruff, but their romance doesn't come easy. We know life isn't easy and Beck has had a lot of loss in her life, which builds and solidifies the wall she puts up to keep love out. Losing a person you love is too much and Beck never wants to go through that again. The Dogather and the entire Kilcannon family make her long for the bond she hasn't had since losing her parents at a young age, but will that backing to Aidan's love be enough for her to take a chance?I read this book in record time because I couldn't put it down. It was a lovely written emotional roller coaster, and it is one of my favorites. This is one of those books you can't wait to finish, but you don't want it to end.If you haven't read the Dogfather series by Roxanne St. Claire, you are definitely missing out.

Sincerely, I ’m addicted to this family, love dogs and pizza. Rocki you achieved umami.
This is the sixth book of the Dog Father Series, one with a lighter and playful tone and the one that gave me a serious case of the Munchies.Major Aidan Kilcannon is physically back with his family in Bitter Bark A.K.A. Better Bark, NC., but emotionally, he is lost. After completing his commitment with the US Army, following the untiming death of his best friend and Army Night Stalker, Charlie Spencer, he only lives for the moment when he can be reunited with Ruff, a wild Rottweiler which Charlie saved from a hospital in Afghanistan and kept as his faithful companion. The DogFather himself helped to bring Ruff home, to the Waterford compound but things changed in a second when Rebecca (Beck) Spencer also claimed Ruff and she wasn't letting go.Beck is a photographer who specializes in babies’ shots, own her photo studio in Chicago and she is also grieving Charlie's death. She is back in town helping her aunt and uncle who suffered a mild stroke and was unable to work in their family own, award winning Pizzeria Slice of Heaven. And so, these two are thrown together by their love of a dog, family and doing what is right.I loved the light hearted tone of this book. Without minimizing nor omitting the importance of family ties, loyalty and care for the elderly, Roxanne St. Claire made me laugh out loud with the dog’s antics and family interactions. The hero was relatable, not picture perfect but close enough and our heroine a champion for those women entrepreneurs who will do what is needed to be done while still staying true to self. Their search for the perfect “slice of heaven” recipe was the most unique way to make the reader savor how their relationship come together. You learn what make them tick and how their trial and error process will make you long for tasting pizza their way while learning what were their respective fears, secrets, dreams and joy.Ruff Around the Edges can be read as a stand alone book but it is a lot of fun to see former characters pop-up, get more about their journey and have more glimpses of future stories. With only one Kilcannon sibling single, THE Dogfather himself, I can't wait for the Mahoney's firemen turn and perhaps another artist? Sincerely, I ’m addicted to this family, love dogs and pizza. Rocki you achieved umami.I received an ARC but these are my most sincere thoughts and also purchased the book, because I want my complete collection.
