Let down
I was super excited about this picture. Been working on it for a couple days to then find out that four of my paints (the yellow and creams) are unusable. So upset and crushed! And you can't "just add water", it's the consistency of marshmallows.

Not enough paint!
It’s a great paint by number, and I’ve really enjoyed doing it. The numbers are clear for the most part. My biggest complaint is there’s not enough of certain colors. Especially the black. I have about 80% of the black area that isn’t done because II don’t have enough paint for it.

Pretty but difficult
This was the first paint-by-numbers kit I have done and it was a doozy. The box says suitable for all ages which was a lie, per the description this is for adults. I think it is going to take about 40 hours to finish it well. There are so many tiny, tiny lines that I ended up buying a nicer brush and I still can't stay in the lines, it requires a ridiculous amount of precision. Colors 6, 7, 8, and 9 arrived completely dried out. I was able to improvise with my acrylic paint markers (which were so much easier to use than the paint brush) but I don't know what someone else would've done. For most colors 1 coat of paint is not sufficient to hide the numbers. I am on coat #3 for the lighter ones and I think I may give up. I also just will generally need to paint everything twice because there are still paintless spots where due to the texture of the canvas and my inexperience I just didn't get paint on every single speck of it, or did not do so evenly. It does not look great right now, despite the description saying that you only need 1 coat. The printed sheet was a life-saver for when I painted over numbers by accident and needed to know what they were, but it would've been great if it was bigger than the canvas instead of way smaller. Some sections did not have numbers and I had to guess based off the reference picture. Others were too small to read. I don't like color 1, I think I will paint it over with 21 to try to make it look more like the picture. I guess I had fun and the focus required was almost meditative, but I don't think I would do this again. And despite ironing the canvas before I started it is still visible creased from being folded up in the box. Only get this if you have a lot of patience, maybe better brushes, and can improvise. And the language on the box is weird. It says "To My Lover" in big letters so prepare for awkwardness if you get this for your parents or friends.
