Used to buy another brand consistently
Used to buy another brand consistently. We always buy 25kg at a time, so it's irritating when a shipment is substandard. This stuff is good. The pellets are firm, very red and lustrous. Our birds love it. To be honest, the previous 25 kg pellets also bought on Amazon went down very well with the birds. The pellets previously supplied from different supplier was dry and very crumbly. Birds still ate it. But is was hard to serve. Unlike reviews elsewhere for other products, have never actually bought red suet pellets that our tits, robins, hedge sparrows, finches..and blackbirds and hedgehogs won't devour if given the opportunity. Ultimately, I think it's a bit of a lottery in terms of the product you get. Was very happy with the previous supplier for many years. This product is tops. Will it be tops on re-order? Who knows.

Even pigeons won't eat this.
Noticed this different flavour was "on offer" so decided to try it.The one I usually get from the same people is very popular, however it's now obvious why this was cheaper - it literally just sits there, without any interest shown by the birds.I am really upset as I'd been really enjoying feeding them, but am busy and cannot just check all the time. I am worried that they have not been fed as apparently this is unpalatable to them even in winter. It just sat in the feeder and eventually went bad, and now I have two huge boxes of it literally no animal I have access to will eat.

Birds love them, good value, watch how you decant
These pellets are smaller than the norm, and yes there is a little more "dust" associated with them (not a massive amount though). It makes no difference to the birds, they lap them up, whether fed from peanut feeders, mixed in with good quality bird mixtures or simply sprinkled on the ground. There is more tendency to clog the feeders in very wet weather. However they are quite a bit cheaper than their nearest rival. Packaging is good if you remember to store the boxes with the "beaks" label the right way up and decant from the box using a scoop or jug - do NOT try to lift the whole via the bag - its not strong enough.

Cheaper, but the birds don't like them
The 12+ varieties of birds feeding in our garden were devouring suet pellets at an alarming (and expensive) rate, so I thought I would try this brand and save over a third of the cost. Unfortunately this has not been a success. After over two weeks, the birds still don't seem to like them very much. When the pellets are dry they shed dust/powder, and they turn to mush/sludge on the bird table when wet. It's back to the previous quality next time!

BIRDS NOT INTERESTED AT ALL
We've been feeding our feathered visitors on a variety of seeds/suet products etc over many years so are tuned in to their likes/dislikes. In this case, suet pellets - be they plain or flavoured - have without exception been gobbled up with enthusiasm. Not so with these Beaks wild berry suet pellets however, which are ignored totally, despite being in the same feeder/position and the same birds visiting/emptying our other feeders. All of which leaves us staring at just under 25kgs of pink suet pellets which are clearly never going to go. Disappointing waste of money - our first and definitely our last purchase!

Good quality at a fair price
My order was processed promptly and arrived comfortably within the promised timescale. The packaging was secure but not excessive. The suet pellets were good quality, firm, not crumbly and attract a variety of birds to our tables.
