PedifixNighttime Bunion Regulator, Right Foot, Medium

I purchased these pedifix nighttime bunion regulator 7 weeks post op of Bil (both feet) Bunionectomy. I placed them on the left and the right foot for 30 min. they felt comfortable. I purchased them to help keep the big toe from going over the meet the other toes- due to the severe deformity of the bunions, this will help the ligaments as the ligaments in that bunion area strengthens. They are wonderfully made. I paid more for the left foot than the right and I don't understand why. Also, it doesn't matter that they sell a left and right because they both fit either foot. Although they're marked, one night I just put them on and when I removed them I notice according to the label (on the leather) they were on the "wrong" feet, but they work, I could not tell the difference. the device is made of plastic and leather with a Velcro strap. you can tighten them or loosen them to comfort. I have worn them now for 3 days at 30 min intervals 2-3 times/day and have already notice how the big toe stays off to itself, leaving the space in between the toes.You cannot ambulate as you would without these devices, however if you need to get up for a brief walk about 12 feet or so, you can walk on your heels or the side of your foot, if you are monitoring the length of time you have them on. I have not kept them on overnight yet, because I want my feet become accustom to them first.The leather feels really good against my foot and does not irritate my incision on either foot: as well as the leather part that comforts the toe. It's actually leather feeling on the outside, but underneath is a very soft feeling on the part that comforts the toe. the top part of the plastic that goes on the pedal part of the foot sticks up- and it should lay somewhat flat-this is the part where you feed the Velcro strap through.Over all, its a good product and I'm glad I purchased them. I took off a star because of the difference in the price for the left and right foot, and that it doesn't matter which one you have, each one will fit the other foot. I make sure I place them on, attaining much comfort. Be careful not to tighten the velcro too much.Well, I'm just 7 weeks Post Op so I have much more tenderness than if you just want to correct an old Bunion. I wish I had invested in these devices years ago. They work for any size bunion- I'm sure they will prevent gross deformity.One last thing, I have the medium size and they are perfect for my large woman's foot size 10, it's a perfect fit for my big toe- the devices may be a large.

I have bunions and wearing this at night. It makes my toe and foot much more confortable. I love these. Would not be without them

I have had this brace for a month now, and have been wearing it most nights. I noticed that after I wear it, my foot often hurts more but in a different way than it did before I wore the brace. I guess that is just the tendons stretching. I also noticed a little swelling one day. My feet are pretty flexible, so in order to feel like it is stretching my big toe I have to put it on pretty tight. The rigid plastic piece that goes along the bottom sometimes presses uncomfortably on the bone in the ball of my foot (the big toe joint). I realize that this could be because I have very boney feet (there is very little padding in the palms of my hands as well). This sometimes makes my foot hurt the next day, and I can only wear sneakers or foam flip flops at the moment :( I prevent this by wearing a gel bunion pad underneath the brace, but I try not to do that too much because that makes it fit even tighter and I worry about blood circulation. I hope this review is helpful; I think I really should have just gone to the doctor to begin with.On the product itself, it came very quickly and seems to be made well. Considering what it is intended to do, I think it is pretty comfortable. I have no complaints about the product itself, other than the fact that it sometimes puts too much pressure on the ball of my foot, I am just not sure it was the answer for my specific issue. It does actually make sleeping more comfortable, since when I'm not wearing it, unless I am sleeping flat on my back which I don't do much, I feel like any time my big toe touches the mattress it's being forced more out of place. This brace prevents that very nicely. I just don't feel like it's reversing the condition at all, which some reviews have claimed.

This device gives me relief when my bunion bothers me. After using it a few days the bunion subsides to the point where I can wear my boots without discomfort. I can then go a few to several months before I need it again.Some reviewers have mentioned breakage. The point of this device is to provide gentle tension, not to wrench your toe forcibly back into position. Give it time to work.The model I bought 4.5 years ago has a nice leather-like strap that goes over the bunion. The one in the picture has a more unfinished look so there is some difference. The overall structure is the same.

These regulators do more than just ease bunion pain. I have the left and the right foot ons. If you haven't let them get out of hand yet, get these IMMEDIATELY!!!!! My feet are aligned again, and without surgery - which is what I had been told I would need! I'm wearing shoes that used to hurt, but without complaint now. and I walk straighter because of it. The first two times or so that you wear it, it does make the joint a bit sore, but that's to be expected. After all it is stretching cramped muscle and tissue and realigning bones. But after a while you can pull it a bit tighter as the bunion responds to treatment.. I can wiggle my big toe which wouldn't move much before. All around excellent invention!!

Recommend purchasing, but will not correct bunion. This eliminates all pain though. Takes time before can sleep through the night with it on. Sizes are important to achieve the proper tension. First time I believe I was sent a large albeit it was marked medium. That splint broke it bed due to the tension I needed to pull toe.Reordered and received an "true" medium. Wearing a sock with individual toes helped cushion the splint and prevented pain from the pressure on my toe nail.Bottom line: Avoided surgery since this is recommended to relief pain. Still have the bunion though.

I’ve been buying this bunion regulator since being advised to do so by my doctor in 1990. They can be worn for years without degrading. I had this just since July and it broke...shocking. I don’t know how to get a replacement for clearly a product that didn’t perform as expected.

My osteopath recommended this product because she uses the same ones, and they do not disappoint. Immediate relief from pain! So amazing. I do recommend you follow the instructions and work your way up to wearing them overnight slowly

Made my foot ache even more. I'm thinking that that was because I have a narrow foot and couldn't adjust it to fit very snugly.
