"Waterproof" box isn't really, and should NOT be used for electrical wiring
This box is dustproof, but in no way can it be considered waterproof. It does not contain a seal of any kind, instead has just a tab of plastic that fits into a slot on the other side, which is compressed by the screws - but in testing, water seeped right past this and the box ended up wet inside.There are two mounting screw holes in the bottom, with rubber plugs to install over them to seal once the screws are in place.The box is very thin plastic, and I would expect it to break/crack if not installed very gently.Lastly, the listing says that this box is made of PVC. It is most certainly not: it clearly shows inside that it is ABS. Not only will this degrade if exposed to UV light from the sun, it will also melt and catch fire in the case of an electrical fault. In NO WAY should this box be used for anything other than low-voltage applications. Do NOT use this box to house regular (120/240VAC) wiring.I can not recommend this box, as it is not waterproof and not safe for use as an electrical junction box.Who is this for?- People who need to cover up low-voltage connections, like surveillance systems/camerasPros:- DustproofCons:- Brittle ABS plastic- Not waterproof
