Amazing that something small as a pencil can detect gas leaks but it does as advertised. It is very easy to use. Simple button controls. Well worth the money.

This gas detector is compact and comes with a case and batteries. It is pen style, easy to use and calibrate. It comes with detailed instructions if you are not experienced in using one of these. The belt clip is a nice feature as well. It works very well for checking gas lines. If you have a gas stove or other device similar this will definitely pick up on any gas escaping.I’ve only used it for checking natural gas, I can’t attest to propane yet. My son just purchased a house that has a gas furnace, stove, and hot water heater. This portable gas detector is perfect for checking these devices and keeping him safe.

This is a small and portable gas detector. Main use would probably be at home, but it can also be clipped on your belt or backpack.Since California gets some earthquakes (waiting for the "big" one!), these gas detectors are very useful to detect a natural gas leak. If your house uses any natural or propane gas, you should have a detector. We do have other regular size monitors set up in the house, but having this small portable gas detector monitor is a good option too.

This is a nice little gas leak detector. It includes an operation manual, Duracell batteries and a nice padded case for storage. Operation is very easy. Upon turning on, you have to wait 25-30 seconds while the unit self-calibrates after which you’re ready to go. I tested it by using my propane patio heater. With the heater in the off position, I checked all around and found no leaks. I then turned the knob on the heater as if I was going to light it and heard gas coming out. The tester was able to sense the escaping gas and gave audible and visual warnings. I also tested with a butane grill lighter. I was able to release a couple of puffs of butane from the lighter without igniting and the tester again quickly picked up the “leak”. I’m not sure how sensitive it would be to finding a very small leak or how close you need to be for detection. But in these two test situations it worked well and will give me some piece of mind. It’s a great device to have around to periodically check for leaks and to test for leaks after changing out propane cylinders.

Like how it's just a pin size detector to use. You can carry it around on you, which makes it really simple to have when needed
